The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water

Corrected entry: Patrick hits his face against his house, causing his teeth to fall out. Two shots later, his teeth are back in his mouth and none are on the ground.

Correction: This is a gag and is something that's done quite frequently in the show, characters getting servery injured and then appearing normal.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: When the pirate is reading the book about Bikini Bottom, he's saying what SpongeBob loves, when SpongeBob is looking at a snow globe of him running to the Krusty Krab, it's raining krabby patties. If you look closely, some of the raining krabby patties don't land on the ground.

Comedyfan74

Correction: While some don't land on the ground there's no mistake. At first, the ones that we don't see land on the ground are because they land off camera. Then when it's the snow globe, part of the ground is blocked by the red ring. And the rest that don't are "floating" in the water in the snow globe, just as the "snow" would float in a normal snow globe.

Corrected entry: When the pirate makes it to the island at the beginning of the film and looks at the map, a boom mic shadow is visible.

Correction: It's just one of the handles on the pirate ship wheel.

Corrected entry: When Spongebob defeats Burger Beard and tells Squidward that they are going to return to the Krusty Krab, he writes down on the paper "And our heros return to the Krusty Krab." Squidward yells as all of them are teleported back to the Krusty Krab. Spongebob says "I left a little surprise, under your shirt." Squidward pulls up his shirt to see he still has his rock hard abs. How did Squidward keep his rock hard abs if Spongebob didn't write it down on the page?

Correction: What happens is, SpongeBob writes down that they return to the Krusty Krab and then Squidward is the only one shown teleporting back to the Krusty Krab - whilst the others teleport back off-screen. As SpongeBob was not shown on-screen as they were being teleported back, this could very well mean he quickly wrote that Squidward kept his rock hard abs whilst they were being teleported back to the Krusty Krab.

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When SpongeBob and his crew are stranded on pelican island, Squidward releases a puddle of ink on the ground because he is nervous. When SpongeBob dabs the pen in the ink, in the next shot the ink is completely gone.

Question: Slash filmed his role as a live-action character named Jerry Vadergeld and is even seen in the film's first trailer, but not in the actual movie. IMDb also says that Frankie Muniz has an uncredited role as a cop, but no police officers are found anywhere in the film. Other background characters (ex. The ice cream bikini girl, the two girls talking about the animated characters as superheroes), scenes (ex. Patrick and the bikini girl's three-scoop ice cream cone, Burger-Beard throwing a pair of plastic rings on Squidward's nose), and dialogue (ex. SpongeBob saying saying "This is uncomfortable!" and "Come on, team. Let's get that book back!") from the trailers were also not in the actual movie. Can anybody explain to me why all that is not in the actual movie?

Answer: The point of a trailer for a movie is to get bums on seats in cinemas so the film-makers have to make a film look really good and generate a "I really have to see this" vibe. Because virtually all professional films shoot far more material than they need, some of it will end up in the trailer as exclusive content and some will end up in the special features section of the DVD (bloopers, deleted scenes etc).
