The Chain Of Screaming - S3-E15
Corrected entry: Barney says that Gary Blauman died, but in season 9, Gary Blauman is a significant character.
Slapsgiving - S3-E9
Corrected entry: When future Ted is counting the times Marshall slapped Barney, the first one is shown as the one at the bar, but this was before Barney decided 5 for eternity. The one that counts as the first is the one he gets after they watch Robin Sparkles' Video.
How I Met Everyone Else - S3-E5
Corrected entry: In this episode we get to see when Ted met Marshall. But in Season 2, episode 1 Ted says to Marshall, "And there was my roommate, lying on the bed with his feet up on the wall. He had headphones on, big smile on his face. That guy was you." In this episode we get to see it was different. (00:04:40)
Correction: I just watched this episode and you've taken it out of context. Ted had picked a time before Marshall had met Lily to show him that he can be happy without her and used walking in to see his confident, happy room mate as an example. At no point does he say that that was the first time they met.
Corrected entry: Robin walks into the apartment and sees a goat turd, which can only be there if The Goat was in the apartment. She goes on to talk to Marshall about keeping quiet about the fact that she slept with Barney, so we know that this happened when Ted was turning 30. But later in the end, Ted says that The Goat was actually there on his 31st birthday. So The Goat turd could not have been there at the time.
Correction: This whole show is told in flashback from a guy remembering 10 years previously. It's the type of thing where it's very, very difficult to pinpoint what is a mistake and what would come under remembering, which I think this does. It would only be a plot hole if it meant something else in the series couldn't have happened unless it specifically had to be there on his 30th.
Correction: First, it's more like 20 years in the past (2030 is present and 2005 - 2013 is the past... Ted turned 30 in 2008). Second, Marshall threw 2 surprise parties, the first on Ted's 30th birthday and the second on his 31st birthday. It is totally conceivable that Present Day (Bob Saget) Ted co-mingled the events of two separate birthdays that occurred 22 and 21 years in the past; one where Robin identified The Goat turd (Ted's 31st birthday) and when Robin slept with Barney (Ted's 30th birthday) especially if the focal point in his mind was a surprise birthday party. Finally, that is the point of the end of the episode when Present Day Ted acknowledges that The Goat incident happened the following year so the viewer is meant to disregard any references to The Goat on Ted's 30th birthday.
Rebound Bro - S3-E18
Corrected entry: When Stella comes to apologize, Ted says, "This is awkward, I have a girl here." Stella hits him and they kiss. Although they only kiss twice, you can hear three kisses. During the last one, their lips are not even touching.
Correction: The third noise is not the noise of a kiss. If you look at Stella's mouth after they kiss, you will see that she is making the noise with her mouth.
The Bracket - S3-E14
Corrected entry: The mystery woman warns Lily to stay away from Barney Stinson. When they go visit Anna, the second woman on The Bracket, Barney reminds Lily that she thinks he's Ted Mosby. That would remove her as a candidate right away since Lily was warned to stay away from Barney, not Ted.
Correction: Put it down as a character mistake or as deliberate mistake by Barney. Barney wanted to include all women he "dated". Given the fact that he is only revealing this when he is with Lily suggests he did not disclose this with the group when telling her back story to help the group make a decision.
No Tomorrow - S3-E12
Corrected entry: In this episode Marshall and Lily buy an apartment that turns out to be crooked. When Marshall is hanging the picture it slants to the left of the camera each time he tries to straighten it, however the apartment is slanted to the right, on camera, and also demonstrated by Robin when she rolls the champagne bottle.
Correction: There is no mistake in that scene. The picture tips the correct way for the laws of physics.
Actually the picture shouldn't tip at all, since only the floor is crooked.
Actually you can see that the corners of the wall are perpendicular to the floor so there should be a tip.
Correction: Barney was lying, it's as simple as that.
