During the last episode of the first series doorman Paddy uses his hair spray to give him fuller locks. But at the start of the second series his hair is back to its normal style even though the second series starts where the first series ended with the club on fire. See more...
Trivia
When Brian goes to Blackpool, we seem him in his wheelchair next to some tram tracks, moving towards the camera. There is some flowers and a note saying 'In Memory of Alan', then a date, something like 07.11.1989. This is a reference to a Coronation Street character, Alan Bradley, who died after being hit by a tram in Blackpool. See more...
Phoenix Nights (2001) - 6 questions
starring Dave Spikey, Peter Kay (add more)
The "questions" section is for any random questions that occurred to you while watching this film, or anything you didn't entirely understand, and which Google or the IMDb can't help with. Submit them as a question, and hopefully someone will answer (the bold comments in brackets) - check back regularly. If the answer is wrong, or missing information, please use the "clarify answer" option. Don't feel limited - want to know what music played in a certain scene? Whether this was the first film to use a certain effect? Here's the place to ask!
Across whole show
We Know Brian is old (he says in one episode his Cadillac is his pension), how come he has no wrinkles on his face? I wouldn't think Brian has facials. [I always took that line about the Cadillac being his pension meant that its something he's going to enjoy when he retires. Otherwise, wouldn't he have said, "my pension paid for that" or something. And apart from that, Brian is played by a much younger Peter Kay, who probably decided that putting on lots of fancy age make-up would be both expensive, and unneccessary for a cheaply made sitcom.]
What is Jerry's last name? When Brian signs his name he signs 'Jerry St. Clair', but in the hospital the nurse says 'Mr. Digman', and the plaque above the door of the Phoenix Club says both names. What is going on? [His name is Jerry St. Clair Dignan. He presumably prefers to go by Jerry St. Clair, hence Brian calling him that - hospital records, on the other hand, would have his full name, hence the nurse calling him Mr Dignan.]
Season 1 Episode 6 (series 1)
In this episode Brian addresses Den Perry as Dennis, but in another episode in series 2 he calls him Denzel, I'm sure as they are rivals that they would know each other enough to get each other's name right, so why did Brian call him two different names? [He doesn't have a longer name eg. Dennis or Denzel it's simply Den. Brian simply says this to make Den annoyed by giving him a long name. Another theory is Brian is so stupid that he just doesn't know Mr. Perry's name or is unsure of it but I'm sure it's the first one.]
