Factual error: At one point Khan threatens to target the Enterprise's life support systems which are located behind her "aft nacelle". The Enterprise doesn't have an aft nacelle; as the many exterior shots show, it has a port nacelle and a starboard nacelle. Khan a) is familiar enough with Starfleet ships to know this basic fact about the Enterprise, and b) can see its nacelles for himself on his own viewscreen while he's delivering this line. There is no "nacelle" housing the impulse engines. They are enclosed by the hull of the saucer section. (01:37:25)

Question: When Gandalf is telling Bilbo about the Istari, he first discusses Saruman the White and Radagast the Brown. Then he mentions the other two wizards, the _____, and says he can't remember their names. What is the word Gandalf uses to describe these two wizards? I've seen the movie twice now but can't catch it. It sounds like he says they're "bruisers", but that doesn't seem like a word anyone in Middle Earth would use.

Aerinah

Chosen answer: He says "the two Blues". Jackson did not have the rights to the Unfinished Tales where the wizards are named (Alatar and Pallando) so he could not mention them in the film.

The Cold Moon

Continuity mistake: In Ch. 33, the rookie Ron Pulaski thinks about his wife and two kids - his toddler, Brad, who is described as old enough to crawl, and "their newborn daughter". But in Ch. 18 of the previous book, The Twelfth Card,it says Pulaski has one daughter and his wife is pregnant with another child. So the mistake is that the older child ought to be a girl, not a boy.

Ready Player One

Continuity mistake: In Ch. 29 when the IOI eargear is first put on Wade, it is "clamped onto his right earlobe, piercing it in two locations." But then, in Ch. 31, Wade disengages the eargear and describes the pain as it "pulled free of the cartilage on my left ear." So there are two mistakes here: first, the eargear changes location from his right ear to his left, and second, it goes from being in his earlobe (which lacks cartilage) to a part of the ear that does contain cartilage.

Ready Player One

Continuity mistake: In Chapter 19, Wade describes the small efficiency apartment he has moved into, which used to be an average hotel room. He says at one point that the room "was basically a cube, about ten meters long on each side." A ten-meter cube is actually a really big room - that's over 32 feet on each side, including ceiling height. Then, just to confirm that this is indeed a mistake, later in the same chapter he refers to "my tiny one-room apartment."

Plot hole: At the beginning of the movie, Hedwig rattles her cage, and Harry says apologetically, "I can't let you out, Hedwig; I'm not allowed to use magic outside of school." But he wouldn't have to use magic to let her out - the key is visible sticking out of the lock on the cage, so all he would have to do is turn the key. (00:01:10)

A Breach of Promise

Continuity mistake: In previous books (such as The Face of a Stranger), Hester Latterly's sister-in-law is called Imogen. In Chapter 7 of this book, however, her name is given as Josephine.

The Sins of the Wolf

Continuity mistake: In Chapter 2, Hester Latterly tells Mary Farraline about her brother James who was killed in the Crimea. But in previous books (for example, The Face of a Stranger), her brother who was killed in the Crimea was called George.

The Stand

Continuity mistake: In Ch. 72, Stu describes finding Harold dead, and recalls that "Harold still clutched the Permacover notebook in one stiffening hand." But earlier, in Ch. 64, Stephen King states that Harold "put the Permacover notebook into the Triumph's saddlebag" immediately before shooting himself.

Factual error: Roland comes from the mountains in the east, arrives at the Great Western Sea, and then decides to travel north (Chapter 1, section 3). This means that as he heads north, the eastern mountains should be on his right and the western sea should be on his left. But as he walks, the sea is on his right and the mountains are on his left (Chapter 1, section 4).

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of Ch. 2, it says Eddie Dean is 21 years old. But near the beginning of Ch. 3, he tells Odetta Holmes he is 23. And only about a week has passed between the two events (as Eddie says on the first page of the unnumbered chapter called 'Shuffle').

Aerinah

Continuity mistake: In section 3 of the chapter called Bear and Bone, Eddie Dean reminisces about his dead sister Gloria. But in the previous book (The Drawing of the Three), Eddie's dead sister's name was Selina (Ch 3: Contact and Landing).

Tron (1982)

Continuity mistake: When Flynn, Tron, and Ram are in the lightcycles, most of the time the cycles are red, yellow, and orange. However, in one shot where the 3 of them have left the game grid and are speeding away from their pursuers, the cycles are shown as red, yellow, and green. [This has been corrected in the special edition re-release.].

Continuity mistake: In the first book, A Wicked Slice, Graham Sheldon was either 30 (beginning of Ch.2) or 31 (end of Ch.7). Now, in this fourth book, it is two years later, and Graham is "now at the age of twenty-nine" (middle of Ch. 1). He is getting younger.

Dead as a Doornail

Continuity mistake: About two thirds of the way through Ch. 1, Sookie serves a pitcher of beer to her brother Jason's boss, Shirley Hunter. But in the previous book, Dead to the World, Jason's boss Shirley's last name was Hennessey (Ch. 3).

Execution Dock

Continuity mistake: In the previous book, Dark Assassin, Monk goes through Durban's notes and finds the only case of his which "remained a mystery" (Ch. 7). The case Monk reopens in the next book, Execution Dock, is also repeatedly referred to as "the one case Durban had not solved" (e.g., Ch. 1 and Ch. 5). The mistake is that there is no way these are the same case. The one from Dark Assassin involves the murder of a 40-year-old barber named Roger Thorwood; the one from Execution Dock is the sexual abuse and murder of a boy named Walter Figgis, by a man named Jericho Phillips. None of the suspects, victims, or witnesses in the two cases overlap at all. Of course Durban could have worked on both cases - but they can't both be the one single case he never solved. And if they are both unfinished, then it is wrong to say (as the author does repeatedly in Execution Dock) that there is only one case Durban didn't close. (It also can't be a character mistake on Monk's part, since he knows about both cases).

Dark Assassin

Continuity mistake: In Chapter 3, Perry describes how Hester Monk will be leaving the Portpool clinic, and says that Margaret Ballinger "knew Hester was going, but she refused to think of it." But then, in Chapter 5, Hester tells Margaret she is leaving, and "Margaret looked stunned" and asks Hester if she means she is leaving for always. Margaret should not be stunned in Chapter 5 if she already knew Hester was leaving, as indicated in Chapter 3.

General questions

I am looking for a documentary about volcanoes that was made no later than 1997. I thought it was by National Geographic but I can't find it on their website (I have watched their film Volcano: Nature's Inferno, and it is not the one I'm looking for). All I can remember about this film is that it included the song "Hot hot hot", possibly as the opening music, and at least part of the movie was about volcanologists Maurice and Katia Kraft. It talks about how they eventually died in a volcanic eruption (ironic, I know). Can anyone tell me the title of this documentary?

Aerinah

Chosen answer: The only other documentary for which the Kraffts are credited on the IMDb is Nature: The Volcano Watchers which was made in 1987. Unfortunately this is before their death in 1991, which is an issue if the documentary discussed their deaths, although wouldn't be unusual for an updated edition to have been shown later with the additional information. Hope that's of some use. May not be the right one, but could be interesting anyway...

Tailkinker

Continuity mistake: At Woodlawn, after McClane takes Russo out and taunts Gabriel over the radio, Gabriel sends Rand after him, saying, "Kill this guy, and I'll give you Mai's share." But four minutes later, when Gabriel has Lucy talk to McClane on the radio, Rand can be seen standing casually against the wall behind him, even though he already left.
