Tron

Continuity mistake: Tron sends his memory disk to talk to Alan. After Tron communicates with his user Alan1, Alan sends him back the disk with new data on it to destroy the MCP. When Tron receives the disk it is like a Frisbee, solid on the top and hollow on the bottom. When he receives the disk the hollow part is on the bottom. He holds the disk in front of him and starts talking about "the key to the new order". The shot changes and the disk has been reversed, hollow side toward him and solid side away from him. He did not have time to rotate the disk. (01:08:10)

luchador

Continuity mistake: When the MCP informs Sark about Flynn, there's the part where Sark is leaning back with his hands off the console. Around where the MCP says "Acknowledge?" Sark's arms fall to his sides. The shot than cuts to a front view, and his arms are on the handle things. (01:02:04)

Continuity mistake: When Flynn and Crom are playing the Ring Game, Flynn's first throw knocks out the 3rd ring from Crom's playing surface. In the closeup shot of Crom they show the outermost ring disappearing when the ball actually hit the 3rd ring. (00:40:20)

luchador

Continuity mistake: When Tron fights off Sark's men as they board the Skyship, watch for the soldier who falls off the side just after Flynn. It's obviously a still rather than an actor as only a pair of non-moving legs fly past the ship. It's an editorial mistake as had the character been "derezzing" (deresolution) he would have glowed yellow and faded which did not happen here.

Continuity mistake: In the initial Lightcycle scene, the bikes inexplicably change position: In the beginning, Sark's blue cycle is on the left, but after they turn towards the arena wall - just before the user worshipper crashes - Sark suddenly races on the right side; and there is no sign that he changed tracks in between shots. (00:01:20)

Continuity mistake: When Flynn, Tron, and Ram are in the lightcycles, most of the time the cycles are red, yellow, and orange. However, in one shot where the 3 of them have left the game grid and are speeding away from their pursuers, the cycles are shown as red, yellow, and green. [This has been corrected in the special edition re-release.].

Aerinah

Continuity mistake: Flynn is wearing Nike sneakers but just before he was digitalized by the laser he wears Adidas trainers. (00:30:22)

Continuity mistake: The Acceleration Stick Flynn uses in the Recognizer goes from flat side forward to edge on and back. Also, in a shot from behind, the background appears through the stick just before Flynn crashes.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: From the Light Cycle grid, the hole in the wall made by one of the Blue bikes has a jagged side like the teeth of a saw blade on the left side, and a couple of squared projections on the right. The hole goes all the way through to a tunnel on the other side. When the trio escape, and exit out into the tunnel, the hole has the saw-tooth jagged side on the left instead of the right. It should be a mirror image of the Grid side of the hole.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Sark is looking at his display and wants the programs back, the display is about the size of a forty-six inch LED TV screen. When the shot changes to a wide shot, the display takes up the whole wall.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Alan is typing to get access to TRON, his hands are reflected in the screen. When he's done typing, his hands and then his arms move back to a relaxed position. When the camera cuts to his face you can see his shoulders move as his arms are pulled back from the computer to a relaxed position again.

Movie Nut

Visible crew/equipment: When Alan and Lora go to see Kevin Flynn at his game room they find him playing his videogame 'Space Paranoids'. After he finishes playing, he turns around to talk with Alan and Lora. As they are speaking you can see the microphone coming up from the bottom of the screen. It even hits Kevin Flynn in the hand.

Ed Dillinger: What's the project you're working on?
Alan Bradley: Well, it's called Tron. It's a security program itself, actually. It monitors all contacts between our system and other systems. It finds anything going on that's not scheduled, it shuts it down. I sent you a memo on it.
Ed Dillinger: Part of the Master Control Program?
Alan Bradley: No, it'll run independently. It can watchdog the MCP as well.

Trivia: Just after Tron pulls Flynn up onto the solar sailor, there is a shot of the landscape below. A hidden Mickey Mouse head can be seen in a nod to the Mouse House. (01:12:24)
