Trivia: George Harrison passed away November 2001, and this film was released December. In the film, the characters of Kurt Russel and Tom Cruise are talking about the Beatles. Kurt mentions someone whose 'favorite Beatle used to be John, and now it's Paul.' To which Tom replies, 'I've always liked George.' It's been said that when that line was uttered in a cinema, there was a collected sigh from the audience. Someone involved with the film remembers Tom Cruise coming and telling him, 'Can you believe he's [George Harrison] gone, man?'

Trivia: In New York, Vincent is showing Mary the old olive company where Don Vito Corleone once worked and then owned. An elderly white-haired lady with a friend comes up and greets them, and tells Vincent about the troubles of the neighborhood. That lady is played by Catherine Scorsese, mother of Martin Scorsese.

Trivia: This role of Inventor played by Vincent Price would be his very last in a motion picture. Shortly after narrating and starring in a couple of television shows and a voice-over for an animated film, he passed away in 1993.

Trivia: After every time travel safari, Charles Hatton greets and welcomes back his guests, comparing them to Columbus, Marco Polo, Armstrong, and 'Brubaker landing on Mars.' In 1978, director Peter Hyams, directed Capricorn One [and A Sound of Thunder], a film about a staged travel to Mars. Three astronauts were involved - Lt. Willis, Cmdr. Walker, and Col. Brubaker.

Trivia: The Kray twins were played by the Kemp brothers Gary and Martin, who are not twins. The Kemps are the founders of the well-known British band Spandau Ballet, who were very well-known in the 1980s.

Trivia: Joe falls in love with a deaf-mute pharmacist. Since this is a remake, the pharmacist's character seems to be a nod to the original film, where the lead character is a deaf-mute man.

Trivia: Cam Gigandet, who plays James, once stated that when he auditioned for a part in the film, he won and was originally cast as Emmet. However, he preferred to play James, and he got the role. He refers to James as the vampire's vampire.

Trivia: After boxing, Jake LaMotta became a stand-up comedian. Former WWF Champion Bruno Sammartino writes in his autobiography that he would sometimes sit and listen to Jake speak. He writes, 'His [LaMotta's] stories could bring many tears to your eyes.'

Trivia: Even though the last match featured was between Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray, the latter was invited to be best man(!) at one of LaMotta's marriages. There is a charming black and white photograph of both LaMotta and Sugar Ray in tuxedos. They were all smiles as Sugar Ray adjusted Jake's bow tie.

Trivia: During the final match with Sugar Ray, a veteran ringside observer seated in the front row counted between fifty to sixty punches that Sugar Ray delivered to Jake LaMotta. Even after Jake was defeated, it was not all bitter: After the fight, the fans sang 'For he's a jolly good fellow' for him.

Trivia: When Sofi wakes up before dawn, she recites a brief thanksgiving prayer to G-d. In Hebrew it is called "Modeh Ani", loosely translated as "I acknowledge", and it is the first prayer uttered by observant Jews after waking up in the morning.

Trivia: Kate Winslet badgered and bribed director James Cameron into getting this role the following ways: Once she sent him a rose with a card. Another was when she rang him up while he was driving in his Humvee and tearfully said, 'You don't understand! I am Rose! I don't understand why you're trying out someone else!' She eventually landed the role.
