Friday's Child - S2-E11

Revealing mistake: In McCoy's video of the Capellans, the weapon thrown at the sapling actually misses it and nails a nearby bush instead. The tree, however, obediently breaks in half and falls over anyway. (00:00:20)

Seek-Locate-Destroy - S1-E6

Revealing mistake: When the Federation troopers blow open the interrogation room door, you can see a brief glimpse, through the smoke, of the thrown sledge hammer that was used to make the door fall in. (00:48:15)

Star Trek (1966)

The Naked Time - S1-E5

Revealing mistake: As the bridge crew monitors Psi 2000 on the view screen, a glitch in the special effects matte makes the planet vanish briefly and then reappear - twice. (00:12:30)

Blake's 7 (1978)

The Web - S1-E5

Revealing mistake: The double-bladed axe one of the Decimas uses to attack the station windows is wobbling as he strikes with it. Small wonder he's not getting far at breaking in, with a weapon made of rubber. (00:22:30)

Cygnus Alpha - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: Stock footage of the London's launch from Earth is run in reverse when it lands, supposedly 8 months later, on Cygnus Alpha. What are the odds that a remote penal planet will have a launching pad with configurations, lights, buildings and background terrain all completely identical to the launch stage on Earth? (00:10:20)

Suggested correction: Airports resemble each other, prisons resemble one another. So do hotels, shops etc. Why isn't this possible?

Star Trek (1966)

The Cage - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: When the laser cannon starts firing at the Talosian rockface, a styrofoam block falls and rolls away on the left side of the screen. After a brief shot of the crew, we see the cannon still firing, and the exact same block falls and rolls off screen on the left again. (00:30:15)

The Cage - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: Due to a poor edit, there's an odd jump cut and a change of lighting just as the Keeper comes out of the elevator on his way to an attempt to steal the laser pistols from the cell. (00:50:40)

The Cage - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: In the first illusion, Vina runs down the path from the fortress to Pike. When we cut to close-ups, they're both suddenly standing much closer to the building than before, and the fortress has changed color from brownish orange to white. (00:23:50)

The Way Back - S1-E1

Revealing mistake: When Tel Varon walks in front of the wall screen in the justice data center, a flash of gibberish lettering and a blue matte line both appear briefly above his head. (00:36:40)

Revealing mistake: Barnabas lives by candlelight in Collinwood's "Old House," a 200-year-old mansion supposedly never wired for electricity. But just before Barnabas throws Willie down the stairs, there's a light switch visible on the wall behind them. (01:04:30)

Jean G

Revealing mistake: At the very end, a bat flying out of the mist toward the camera was intended to imply that Barnabas had taken bat form and could thus be around for a sequel. But through the haze, Barnabas can still be seen lying on the floor when the bat flies past. (01:36:25)

Revealing mistake: When Willie is hit in the back by the bolt from Jeff's crossbow, the outline of the packing material used to catch the arrow is visible under his coat. (01:32:00)

Turnabout Intruder - S3-E24

Revealing mistake: For the final time in "Star Trek's" 3-season run, Chekov mysteriously vanishes from the bridge to be replaced by that tall blond doppelganger, thanks to an old piece of 1st season stock footage used for the special effects insertion of the view screen. The costumes are also noticeably different from 3rd season's uniforms. (00:14:05)

The Brain-Killer Affair - S1-E23

Revealing mistake: Solo pushes the chief from Calcutta's wheelchair into an elevator in UNCLE headquarters. The floor going into the lift, however, is visibly solid, with no break to allow for a real elevator's movement. (00:14:55)

Turnabout Intruder - S3-E24

Revealing mistake: During the Court Martial scene, a directorial error led to Kirk's exit from the briefing room in the wrong direction. He walks off screen into what would have been a solid wall or corner. The briefing room's only door is on the other side of the room. (00:39:15)
