Continuity: When Gandalf appeared to save the dwarfs from the Goblin King, he was covered in darkness and slowly became visible when lights came back. During this time Glamdring is not glowing (whereas it was around goblins in the LOTR trilogy). Funnily enough the Goblin King described Glamdring as "Foehammer, bright as daylight!". Which would make sense since the only time they would have ever seen Glamdring (and Orcrist), it would have been glowing.
