Meet the Robinsons

Factual error: When Wilbur tosses Lewis onto the time machine, he should have broken or hit the glass covering the back half. And he is on all fours when the machine becomes visible, which shows he would have had his face hitting the driver seat, yet he scrambles back into the passenger seat without a problem, then is seen barely leaning forward to talk to Wilbur in the future.

Factual error: Goes along with the other factual error about the time machine: when Lewis falls, he falls into the bottom of the time machine, but when it becomes visible, a bit of roof is over his head. How could he go through the back half of the roof, but not all the way through the time machine? (00:20:35)

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Lewis is first on the roof-top, and Mildred comes up to speak with him, the box he is sitting next to is plain wood on one side, and tallied on the other. When there is a close-up of Lewis' legs and the torn paper, when he's ripping the pages out of his book, the box has stencilled writing that is upside down. (00:06:25 - 00:18:30)

Bowler Hat Guy: Now, to lure him out of the house... I know! I'll blow it up! Yes! Yes, and... uh... no... no. That won't work. Then he'll be dead. Oh, I know! I'll turn him into a duck! Yes, it's so evil! Oh... I don't know how to do that... and I don't really need a duck... this may be harder than I thought.

Trivia: In the closeups of Goob on the baseball field, there are two billboard advertisements on the fence behind him - one is "Jungle Book" featuring Mowgli with Baloo, and the other is "Toy Story 2" featuring Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye.

Question: Is the dog in glasses a reference to Mr. Peabody, or just a coincidence? I thought if it was, the commentary would mention it, but there was no mention of the gag at all.

Answer: There's no indication that the dog had anything to do with Mr Peabody (especially since the dog didn't speak or do anything other than sit there). It was just a front for a throwaway joke.

It's a coincidence because Mr. Peabody and Sherman was not released until 2014 and Meet the Robinsons came out in 2007.

But that film is based on the Peabody's Improbable History segment from the 50s/60s TV show The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends.
