The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight mistake picture Video

Visible crew/equipment: During Batman's interrogation of the Joker, when he picks him up and slams him against the wall, for a very brief moment you can see the camera and the cameraman in the reflection of the mirror on the right. (01:29:10)

Continuity mistake: In the interrogation scene, when Joker sits on the floor, in one shot there's cracks all over the wall, but in the next one there is only one crack, and then again it is full of cracks. (01:29:20)

Revealing mistake: The Lamborghini Murcielago that Bruce Wayne drives changes from a real Lambo to a fake one - in the long shot (down an alleyway) showing the Lambo at the end of the street, It's obvious the wheel base is too short and the ride height is too high. It makes no sense why they would use the fake Lambo in this shot, as the car doesn't get damaged until later in the film. (01:46:00 - 01:51:00)

Visible crew/equipment: When the Joker gets on the bus, after blowing up the hospital, about halfway along inside the bus is a large camera set-up. It can't belong to Mike Engel's news crew as it is not only too large to be hand held or shoulder mounted (it is one of the IMAX cameras used to film a shot from within the bus that wasn't used in the final cut) but also has a thick black cloth draped over it for the cameraman to work beneath. Obviously not a camera used by any news crew. (01:48:00)

Revealing mistake: When The Joker destroys the hospital the windows on the second and third story don't reflect anything. This is because the day before shooting at the abandoned building vandals broke in and destroyed the windows, meaning they needed to be replaced by CGI. Confirmed in the "Making of". (01:52:35)

Continuity mistake: Just after Gordon gets a call from Batman saying, "Gordon, I have the Joker's location, Pruitt building" it cuts to an aerial shot of the building. On the building there is a construction banner with the logo DAVIS, with a blue anchor shape logo. Then later on, when Gordon has the binoculars and says, "Why would they choose a spot with such good weakness" there is another aerial shot where the building banner now read BOVIS, with a blue arch logo. (01:56:55 - 01:58:55)

Other mistake: During the Prewitt building siege near the end of the movie, three SWAT members are rappelling though glass windows to challenge some hostages who are dressed as clowns. Batman runs towards them and on screen just in time mid sentence to defeat two of the SWAT members with the third member already inexplicably writhing on the floor in the background, as though he has already been downed by the Caped Crusader before confronting the other two. (02:07:05)

Factual error: After escaping the hospital, Harvey Dent wears the same charred suit he was wearing when he was brought to the hospital. That suit would not have been neatly taken off and left intact. It would have been cut off with shears so as not to accidentally remove any damaged skin and flesh when pulling the pants and shirt off. The blazer might still be intact but certainly not the pants and shirt.

Continuity mistake: The Joker fires a rocket-propelled grenade at the Tumbler, sending it crashing end over end. In the final tumble, as it loses the last of its momentum, it's rolling to rest on its roof. The camera angle then changes and it's suddenly regained momentum, rolling again so it lands on its wheels.

Continuity mistake: Joker and Two-face are in the hospital; Harvey is about to flip the coin to decide if the Joker lives or dies. The camera angle switches back and forth between the Joker and Harvey. From one angle Harvey is wearing the monitor clamp on his middle finger with the grey wire, from the other angle it is gone. It disappears and re-appears every time the camera angle changes.

Audio problem: In the scene where Alfred is stitching up Bruce, Bruce says "I wanted to inspire people." As he says "people" the shot changes and his lips aren't moving, but the audio track continues.

Continuity mistake: When Harvey Dent loses his face and is lying in the hospital bed, when he's turned with the damaged side against the pillow, we can see the inside of the side of his mouth which should be damaged, but it's fully intact. Then when he turns it's suddenly burned away.

Revealing mistake: As Harvey Dent is tied up in the warehouse with the explosive barrels talking to Rachel, if you look in the lower right hand corner of the screen, a green blanket on the floor moves up slightly as Harvey tries to get out of his restraints. It's too far away for Harvey to touch. A person's fingers or hand is also momentarily visible in the previous establishing shot when Dent is regaining consciousness.

Continuity mistake: When Eric Roberts gets in the car with Two-Face, the car seems to go from being parked to going full-speed in a split-second. As he's getting in the car, Roberts is talking to his driver, and just as he sits down, he sees Two-Face, and the background appears to be moving by very quickly behind him. The car wouldn't have had time to even pull away from the curb yet.

Continuity mistake: During the big chase, at one point Batman, riding the Bat Pod, shoots out a glass doorway and proceeds to drive through an underground area loaded with storefronts. However, if you look, the editing makes no sense. He rounds a corner and shoots out the glass doors and is about 5 feet away from crashing through, then it cuts and he's in a completely different area with completely different lighting going up a ramp, then the camera cuts again and he bursts through the doors seen two cuts prior. The rest of the scene is edited normally, so it makes no sense why this moment has the Bat Pod teleporting to a completely different location for one short shot. A prior correction stated he was going up a wheelchair ramp, but this is complete hogwash - the ramp he's going up is in a different location nowhere near the doorway, and he's at least 50 feet from any structures, whereas moments prior he was only about 5 feet from the doorway.

Continuity mistake: After the Batmobile is hit by an RPG, Batman steers the car through the concrete barrier out of the traffic lane. As the car crashes through another wall, it lifts from the rear and the driver side rear tire is seen flying off the car. For the rest of the scene, all the tires are still attached.

Continuity mistake: When the Joker reveals to Batman that he's also got Rachel, Batman slams the Joker into the wall. The tiles behind the Joker's head have little cracks in them. Cut to another shot from the side, all the cracks are gone.

Continuity mistake: When the Tumbler has been hit by the Joker's RPG, the camera changes to showing the GPD van trying to regain control, but the Tumbler is nowhere to be seen in the foreground.

Continuity mistake: When Rachel and the Joker are talking up close in the scene where the Joker crashes Bruce's party, as the camera switches back and forth between Rachel and the Joker a small dark blemish (maybe food) disappears and reappears in his cheek.

Alfred Pennyworth: So I suppose they'll be arresting me for being your accomplice, sir.
Bruce Wayne: Accomplice?I'm gonna tell them the whole thing was your idea.

Question: How did the bomb at MCU leave everyone else totally incapacitated, while the Joker was completely unharmed? I know he has remarkable tolerance for pain, but come on! Also, if he was wearing some kind of protective clothing, they would have discovered it. So how did all the cops get knocked out while the Joker just walked away?

Answer: Look where he's standing just before it goes off. The Joker's carefully positioned himself close to a set of heavy filing cabinets, which are between him and the blast, protecting his legs and almost all of his torso. As the bomb goes off, you can see him duck his head down, allowing the blast to pass him by almost completely. He gets to walk away unscathed because the blast never really hits him.
