Goldfinger

Revealing mistake: Bond's unconscious body falling out of the car at the end of the car chase is obviously sped up.

Continuity mistake: After Bond has wrecked Tilly Masterson's car, he takes her to a gas station. At the gas station, there is a orange camping tent visible in the background, When Bond leaves the gas station, the tent is suddenly gone.

Factual error: According to Bond's radar map, Goldfinger is driving north of Geneva. There aren't any mountain passes north of Geneva. The whole sequence (involving the murder attempt by Tilly) was filmed between the Furka Pass and the town of Andermatt.

Continuity mistake: The Falcon Odd Job is driving with the crushed Lincoln has whitewall tires when leaving the scrap yard but when he returns to the farm it has blackwall tires.

Continuity mistake: The first time we see Goldfinger by the pool, in the wide angle there's a girl with an orange bathing suit, and a man with a striped shirt next to her. In the close-up, the man now has a white T-shirt with a blue print, and the girl has a white bikini and an orange skirt.

Continuity mistake: During the pre-credits, the amount of soap on the back of the girl that was taking a bath changes between shots.

Continuity mistake: During the pre-credits, Bond lights his lighter to check his watch before the explosion. In the close-up he lights it again.

Continuity mistake: During the pre-credits Bond enters a room and his hands are spotless. In the close-ups of him placing explosives they're very dirty.

Continuity mistake: When the head of the statue falls on the ground after being decapitated by Oddjob's bowler hat, the head is now bright white and no longer matches the colour of the original marble.

Continuity mistake: When Colonel Smithers says "That's not quite fair" during the dinner sequence with Bond and M, the position of Smithers' hand/cigar jumps between shots.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is knocked unconscious by Oddjob in Goldfinger's suite, the robe-knot on his dressing gown changes when he regains consciousness.

Factual error: When Goldfinger's pilots fly over Fort Knox to deliver the sleeping gas, they could not have done this in real life because Fort Knox is in a no fly zone. Fort Knox's airspace is a 3.5-mile radius and it goes up to 3,500 feet. They'd have been intercepted in no time. (01:29:06)

Other mistake: When Q briefs Bond about the Aston Martin, he tells him the homer (tracker) has a range of 150 miles. When Bond is tracking Goldfinger in Switzerland, he is momentarily distracted while Tilly overtakes him. The blip on the screen has then disappeared, meaning G's car is some 150 miles ahead. But moments later, Bond pulls up on the hillside above where G has stopped for refreshments. How could he have made up the best part of 150 miles in so short a time?

Continuity mistake: Bond is in bed with Jill. He goes to get some ice and she faces forward at him. A shot later she is facing upwards and her head is tilted sideways.

Continuity mistake: When Bond is talking to his contact in the bar after the heroin plant explosion, look in the mirror behind him and you can see Bonita the dancer talking to some other men in the middle of the room. But in the next shot Bonita is on her own walking up the stairs, and the men are no longer in sight.

Plot hole: As Goldfinger points out there are 41,000 troops stationed at Fort Knox so how in the world was Goldfinger able to make his escape? The troops should have easily been able to overpower Goldfinger's men without much of a fight and certainly shouldn't have been so easy for Goldfinger himself to get away on the helicopter.

Continuity mistake: The wall separating the cockpit of Goldfinger's private plane seems to have disappeared when Mai Ling is waiting for Bond to lower the steps of the plane as she can be seen standing right behind Ms. Galore's seat.

Continuity mistake: The crane from the junkyard stops at the car's roof, but from a different angle it's up and being lowered again.

Question: Q demonstrated the switches for the left and right front-wing machine guns - why is the "right" control on the left and vise versa?

turkman143

Chosen answer: They're not. Q was just indicating to Bond that these were the wing machine guns, he wasn't stating which was which.
