Continuity mistake: Hellboy tosses Dr. Manning through the quickly-closing door to escape the pendulum on the bridge - he barely makes it under. Hellboy then spends thirty seconds dodging the pendulum, but when he dives for the door it's still closing at the same point and speed - just enough for him to pass. (01:30:55)

Hellboy is a fantastic first outing for the demon-turned-hero and his team of an empathic fish-man and a disturbed pyrokinetic as they face Nazis, Rasputin, a psychopathic undead super-soldier, various monsters, and others in this battle of good vs evil by Guillermo del Toro. Great action, comedy, SFX and the rest make this a welcome addition to viewing, so enjoy.

Trivia: The soundtrack for this film includes a very unusual instrument: a precision-played theremin. The theremin was traditionally used to create spooky sound effects, but it this film it's actually used for playing melody, which requires exceptional playing skill.
