Continuity mistake: After Burt has been stabbed, he is chased around the town. During the scene, in different shots, the size and shape of the blood stain on Burt's tee-shirt continually changes. In some shots it's small, then large, then smaller again etc. (01:00:05 - 01:02:00)

Continuity mistake: When Job is hanging up the lantern in the barn, as the winds blow, there are two children huddled up, to the right of Job and the others. In the next shot of Burt entering, one of the children has vanished. (01:15:05)

Continuity mistake: When Burt and Job are out in the cornfields, trying to set up the hose, Burt tells Job to turn the valve. As Job turns it, his ripped cardigan is hanging from his elbow. In the next shot it's suddenly up on his shoulder. (01:19:50)

Continuity mistake: When Burt, Vicky, Job and Sarah arrive back to the corn-trashed car at the end of the movie, the corn stuffed inside the front of the car is no higher than the open bonnet, yet in the next shot corn is sticking out, up higher than the open bonnet. (01:23:20)

Suggested correction: Does a theatrical trailer error count as a movie mistake?

Jack Vaughan

Continuity mistake: When we see the beginning of rebellion inside Hansen's Cafe, you can notice through the front window a building across the street with a sign saying something like "Stone Master Products". Three years later, when Burt and Vicky stop by Hansen's Cafe, the buildings that we saw before are nowhere to be seen - no rebuilding has occurred as the town is deserted except for the children. It is because the interior shots of the cafe were filmed in a different town.

Revealing mistake: When Burt hits one of the children, the skid marks are in front of the car, when they should be behind it.

Continuity mistake: When Amos is saying "I'm ready to celebrate my birthday", priestess is looking at him. After that, Isaac starts yelling and when the shot changes, she is suddenly looking towards Isaac.

Trivia: John Franklin, who plays the villainous Isaac, was actually a full-grown man in his mid-20s. He had a growth hormone deficiency when he was growing up, and as a result, he never grew taller than 5' and had a slightly lighter voice. This made him perfect for the role as he looked and sounded the part, and also didn't have to deal with the restrictions that come with child labour laws.

Question: All of Isaac's followers in this film are young people, no older than about their mid 20's. So why in the opening scene during the Cafe slaughter, is there a elderly lady helping them do their dirty work (the worker who poisons the coffees). This makes no sense at all considering it's the older people they were killing.

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: Who knows? Maybe they blackmailed her, because she works there, and the children wouldn't get caught poisoning the coffee, or maybe she isn't as old as you think, she could well be in her mid 20's, it's hard to tell, you only see her briefly.

Hamster

She is obviously in her late teens, early 20s.
