Continuity: A scene in the beginning of the movie shows the little boy dead in the road facing one way and on his stomach and then in a different shot he is facing another way rolled over and in a different place.
Visible crew/equipment: In a scene where the two lead characters pull up to a stop in the car, the shot is dead-on from the driver's side, and you can clearly see the entire camera crew reflected in the side of the car.
Continuity: When Sarah laying in her bed, drawing a picture of everyone standing outside Hansen's Café with knives, between a wide shot and a closeup, as she is colouring it, the drawing noticeably changes.
Continuity: When Burt twists the arm of the girl who is giving the church sermon, to hold her still, her black dress strap falls halfway down her arm. In a following shot, before she grabs the knife, it is back up on her shoulder.
Continuity: After the owner of Hansens café is attacked, the children put his hand against a blender, and a blood splatter occurs, spraying across onto Job's face. Between shots the pattern of the blood on Job's face changes between shots.
Visible crew/equipment: When the gas station atendent is talking out loud to himself after giving directions to the people, there is a shot of him through a window, in the window you can clearly see a crew member.
Continuity: As Joseph is about to run away through the corn field, the shot pans across the corn and it is blowing in the wind. In the very next shot as Job says, "You're not going through the corn are you?" the corn is now totally still.
Continuity: When Job is hanging up the lantern in the barn, as the winds blow, there are two children huddled up, to the right of Job and the others. In the next shot of Burt entering, one of the children has vanished.
Continuity: After Burt has been stabbed, he is chased around the town. During the scene, in different shots, the size and shape of the blood stain on Burt's tee-shirt continually changes. In some shots it's small, then large, then smaller again etc.
Continuity: As Vicky and Burt are driving along the country roads, in some of the exterior shots of the car, telegraph poles are visible, running along the roadside. But then when it cuts to interior shots, the telegraph poles have vanished.
Continuity: At the start of the film when Vicky gives Burt his birthday present, there is a radio on the bedside shelf, to the right of the wall plug fixture. When she turns the radio on in the following shot though, the radio is under the plug fixture.
Audio problem: When Sarah's mother is on the phone with her husband, she says, "I'm worried Dave, the fever's gone from 101 to 104," yet her mouth doesn't move.
Continuity: After Burt has left to go to the Town Hall, Vicky asks Sarah her name. Then later, Burt comes back to the house. Although Vicky has been abducted, Burt somehow knows the little girl's name is Sarah.
Continuity: When Vicky gets carried away from the bedroom by the group of children, the sandal on her left foot falls off as she struggles. Later, in the cornfields, as she gets raised onto the large crucifix, the sandal is back on her foot.
Continuity: When Joseph stumbles into the road, Burt hits him with his car. In the initial shot we see that Joseph's body had landed in the middle of the road on a yellow line. In a following shot, his body is now seen to be by the side of the road.
Continuity: After Sarah takes the needle off of the record player in the bedroom, when Vicky comes over and starts to question her, the record continues to spin to a stop, then in one shot it stops spinning. But in a following shot it is still spinning.
