Toy Story 2

Continuity mistake: If you look closely when Woody and Jessie are hugging on the plane near the end of the movie, in the green case, in Woody's styrofoam holder thing, his gun holder is on the wrong side, but you have to look really close. (01:18:45)

Continuity mistake: When Jesse and Bullseye are at Andy's house, the letters on Bullseye's hoofs are written so that when it says Dany, the A is on the front left hoof, D is on the back left hoof, the N is on the front right hoof, and the Y is on the back right hoof. When he switches the letters to Andy, the A and Y stay on the same hoof, but the D and N switch hooves. (Note, our left and right, not Bullseye's.). (01:22:40)

Continuity mistake: In the German Version: The group arrives at the Toy Market and a sign says "GESCHLOSSEN". The next time it is shown it says "CLOSED". (Geschlossen is the German word for closed).-It happens in the French version as well and in other Pixar films too. They arguably translated the most obvious words so that foreign people can understand, but they forgot some of them.

Continuity mistake: The movie released in Spanish cinemas showed the signs on Al's Toy Barn written in Spanish, but only during the first shots. Moments later they magically change to their original English text.

Continuity mistake: When Rex breaks the fort with his tail, Mr. and Mrs. Potato are behind it but they disappear a few shots later.

Other mistake: When the toys burst through the air vent into Al's office, the other Buzz's laser goes off with out him touching it.

Factual error: If the access hatch to the nose wheel well on an airliner was opened at any time during the take off run every alarm panel in the cockpit would light up like a Christmas tree. The pilot would immediately abort take off.

Other mistake: During one of the outtakes between Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Mrs. Potato Head packs a set of toy "teeth". In the DVD subtitles for this scene, it's printed as if she said "cheese".

Deliberate mistake: Even though Hamm is flicking through the channels at the same speed, the side with Al's advert on it is visible for longer.

Plot hole: At the end when the gang get home to Andy's room, it's night time and the luggage trolley they drove home in is outside the neighbour's house. The next morning it's still there. But we see an ad with the 'chicken man' looking very sad because he lost Woody and the others. How could he have gone to Tokyo, realised the dolls were missing, then zoomed back to Tri County to do the ad the next day? While saving Woody, the toys explicitly say that Andy is returning home the following morning. They must have made it in one night, or they would have missed Andy's return.

Continuity mistake: When the Toys enter Al's Toy Barn looking for Woody, the colour of the tiles right after the cashiers don't match between the aerial and close-up angles.

Continuity mistake: Woody's height slightly changes in the scene where Buzz tries to convince him to return with them. You can notice that from the scene where Woody starts to explain why he doesn't want to come back, and in the one where he turns away and keeps his arms folded.

Continuity mistake: In the baggage area when Woody fights with Pete, his arm is torn (an injury which had previously rendered it useless). However, in the next scene going to rescue Jessie, he is using the arm freely and there is no sign of a tear or fix. There is then reference (and visible signs) later in the film that the arm has been fixed.

Factual error: Near the end of the film when Jessie and Woody escape the plane, Buzz and Bullseye stand on the runway. In the sky you can see a plane approaching and it passes just above them. A real plane can blow away an entire car when it's behind the engine, yet nothing happens to a bunch of toys.

Other mistake: When Al gets off the lift on the floor where Woody is, the toys also get off the top of the lift onto what would be the floor above, but end up on the same floor.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, Buster knocks over the Troikas (the toys that fit inside each other), but they vanish a couple of shots later. We can see that they aren't behind Buster when he sniffs the bedroom and heads near the Potato Heads.

Other mistake: In the last scene with the baggage plane, Woody, Buzz, etc. are all near the plane when it takes off. Since they were following a big jet, they are well down the runway once it takes off. Later, without them backtracking the runway, another plane passes overhead very close, as if to land. There is no chance to land a plane if it touches down that far down the runway. You will not be able to stop in time.

Revealing mistake: When the toys are watching Woody being stolen the games machine on top of the TV doesn't have its controllers plugged in, but Rex was playing earlier with a wire coming out of his controller, which clearly wasn't actually connected to anything.

Question: When Al is talking to the Japanese man on the phone, he ends the phone call with "Don't touch my mustache." What does he mean by this? Is this a Japanese term that sounds like don't touch my mustache? (Similar to when everybody yells "have a paper bag!" at Harryhausen's in Monster's Inc?)

Answer: "Douitashimashite" is the Japanese word for You're welcome. Phonetically, it sounds like "Don't touch my mustache." It's how we were taught to say it while living in Japan in the military. If you say it fast enough, you can sound like you are pronouncing the word decently enough (although clearly not THAT accurately.)
