The Twilight Saga: Eclipse picture

Corrected entry: The Cullens are watching a news report about the violence in Seattle. It is night time in the report, and the reporter says "this is CNN live.". Cut to the Cullens watching the newscast, and it is daylight out. Forks and Seattle are both in western Washington, it could not be night in one place and day in the other.

Correction: I watch CNN "live" all night at work. It was recorded live, not necessarily happening at that very moment but it's big news so they show it repeatedly.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 picture

Corrected entry: During the beginning at Malfoy Manor, Voldemort uses his wand to glide Charity Burbage over the table until she is very close to its end. He murders her, and she falls onto the table, very near to Voldemort, and where Draco Malfoy is sitting. However, when Nagini crawls onto the table, she slithers well past Draco, where the body is supposed to be lying, and lunges for the kill. (00:08:55)

lionhead

Correction: Charity Burbage is beyond the opposite end from Voldemort, and he glides her just onto the far end, then kills her. Draco is looking away from him, towards the body. As such Nagini having to go past Draco is correct.

Shutter Island picture

Corrected entry: Toward the end of the movie, when Teddy is going to the lighthouse to rescue his partner, he is seen jumping over a wall. He lands in a large amount of fallen leaves. As he does so, the edge of the mat that breaks his fall is visible beneath them.

Correction: Everything teddy does is set up so would make sense that they would take care to protect him as much as possible, the mistake may in fact be part of the setup, not a filming error, teddy wouldn't have known what he landed on.

Machete picture

Corrected entry: Shortly after Machete tries to kill the Senator, he got stuck on a roof shooting all the 4 guys of Booth in the knee. A day later these bodyguards are walking around like they have never been shot in the knee. They should all be in hospital for weeks in reality.

Correction: This being a Grindhouse movie, a lot of reality has been ignored including people's injuries. Machete himself takes multiple wounds from bullets and even has his leg chopped up then continues on without so much as a limp. It is all a part of the over-the-top dark comedy feel of Grindhouse movies that this was done.

The Social Network picture

Corrected entry: When Eduardo flies to California to see Mark he is soaking wet from standing outside in the rain, and his hair is in disarray, including his bangs being down on his forehead. He and Mark then go speak privately, and in one of the camera cuts to Mark his hair is suddenly styled, including the bangs being parted to one side instead of down. He wouldn't have had enough time between cuts to "fix" his hair, and even if he did, it wouldn't have looked like he just walked out of a salon. (01:29:40 - 01:32:00)

Correction: There is a shot of Eduardo in the hall fixing (back turned to the camera) visible his hair by pushing it back off his forehead to his right side.

Robin Hood picture

Corrected entry: SPOILER: At the end of the movie, the French invasion fleet lands in craft which would be more at home in Saving Private Ryan. The first example of a specialized landing craft of any sort appeared in 1920, over 700 years after the events in the movie take place.

Correction: This is incorrect. In 1229 Jaime I, King of Aragon, invaded the Balearic Islands using armoured troop transports towed by galleys. These vessels had bows that opened to release troops directly onto the beaches. It's conceivable the French could have used the same technique around 25 years earlier.

True Grit picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where the girl crosses the river on the horse she is wet right up to her neck. Once out of the river talking to Cogburn she is completely dry.

DV2061

Correction: If you look closely, there is water dripping from her hat and her coat is much darker from being wet.

Correction: No he isn't. They're just shaped weird because they're compact binoculars. Thicker in the middle for a better grip, they taper off around the lenses. The ends you look through have a uniform diameter, and that's the end he's got to his eyes.

The Expendables picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where they sprayed the petrol from the plane and then set it to fire, only the petrol at the platform catches fire, not the one which was still dropping from the plane.

Correction: If the fuel is running out faster than the flames can burn the vapors, it will not race up the fuel column. In fact, if it does, it's a movie contrivance. See the Mythbusters episode concerning exactly this scenario.

Salt picture

Corrected entry: In the flash back scene where you see the Russian helicopter flying to the castle/building where the young Russian children are being trained (I believe this would have been set in the 60's-70's and is explained by the old Russian spy to Angelina during the interview), the Russian helicopter has the current Russian flag, however it should have the old communist flag.

Correction: The current Russian flag has actually been used since 1896, with the Hammer and Sickle being the official flag after the Bolshevik revolution. The tricolor was resurrected in 1991 as the official flag, but there have been variants of the tricolor used unofficially even during the Soviet era.

Inception picture

Corrected entry: When the helicopter lands on the roof top and Cobb and Arthur leave, the rotors are still heard rotating, yet there is no wind blowing (Cobb's hair, clothes) on the outside of the helicopter.

Correction: When the helicopter's collector lever or "throttle" if you will is put at it's lowest power setting it will not produce any downdraft or "blowing" from the blades. It's not a mistake.

Paranormal Activity 2 picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where the older sister is locked out of the home, she goes around to the back door of the house and is seen knocking on the back door where the window curtain is "open" part-way so we see that it is her. However, when the parents arrive home, the window curtain is "closed" fully.

Correction: The ghost is very active during this time, closing doors, taking the baby out of the crib, isn't possible it closed the curtain?

The Book of Eli picture

Corrected entry: SPOILER: There are many many clues as to Eli's character being blind throughout the entire movie; he bumps into a table, he felt around for the boots on the body, he heard the rat, he said "you have to come to me", when the woman said he'd have to say something or come to her, he scratches his shirt (and finds out she too is blind), he says he travels by faith not by sight, he counts the clicks on the iPod to get to a song, he fiddles with the iPod because he cannot see the battery is low, he asks the shopkeeper if he has his trigger off of the gun, he's always listening to birds/people, he doesn't shoot until he's shot at, he says he can smell people (the ambush), he says he "didn't see the (no trespassing) sign" at the old folks house, he heard the china rattling so he knew that they eat humans, etc.

Correction: The reference to walk by faith and not by sight was not because of his blindness, he was simply quoting scripture (2 Corinthians 5:7). It does make it a little humorous and ironic that he says it though.

The scripture is both ironic and true. Eli says in the movie "I am not a Liar" and he always phrases things so he doesn't say anything that would be misunderstood.

Correction: Good points! Also he told his companion to be quiet so he can hear the vulture in order to shoot it with an arrow.

He asked the shopkeeper to take his finger off the trigger assuming it was. Another good example is that he ran his hand over the lighter to make sure it had a flame. He also didn't have an immediate (visual) response to the hanging man.

Toy Story 3 picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Woody, Barbie, Rex, and The Pig try to fix Buzz they unscrew his battery compartment to attempt to switch him back, after a while Buzz immediately gets up with his battery compartment completely screwed back on when nobody screwed it back on and stays that way the rest of the movie. (00:43:25 - 01:07:05)

Correction: It's simply snapped shut. When Buzz jumps it the back cover swings up and closes itself. The screw is just a precaution that companies take so young children dont open the compartment and mess around with the batteries. The screw itself is rarely the sole reason the doors stay closed.

Resident Evil: Afterlife picture

Corrected entry: Physics error: When Chris, Crystal and Alice decide to swim down to the basement where all the weapons are, the water reaches up to the floor they're standing on. But then, when they swim down and reach said basement, there's plenty of air to breathe. This could only be possible if there was a pocket of air, trapped in the basement. However, they use an air vent to escape, which seems to be leading directly to the upper levels. If the proper physics would've applied, the air in the basement should've escaped through the air vent, making the water flood the lower sections. It's the same principle as blocking the top of a straw with your finger, submerging most of it in water (so you have a pocket of water in the straw), and remove your finger. The air will escape, and the water will take its place.

Correction: In the example of the straw, I meant pocket of AIR, not WATER :P.

The Crazies picture

Corrected entry: In the beginning part of the movie where the sheriff stops the boat over the plane on the river. The screen zooms out and give a detailed latitude and longitude coordinates. When you google earth those coordinates, its exact location is a field outside of Lenox, Iowa. It is a small town similar to the one there at, but there is no river anywhere nearby. (00:19:50)

Correction: The Town and River are fictional, hence why they dont exist in the real world. No one said the movie was a true story. If it were a true story then it would be a mistake if nothing real were located at the coordinates given.

Tangled picture

Corrected entry: When the thugs rescue Flynn when he is being taken to be hanged, his hands are chained. These chains disappear without any time or method of removing them.

Correction: Flynn isn't on screen through his entire escape. It's obvious the ruffians have everything planned, so of course they also brought a way to remove his chains, we just don't see it happen on screen.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time picture

Corrected entry: The story unfolds at a time when the Persian Empire is still strong. At that time, Persia was not yet subjugated by the Arabs who later on adulterated their Persian language with the Arabic script and the Islam religion. Why then, can the Arabic language be heard spoken by the background actors? Why then, is the decree signed by the newly enthroned King (the eldest son)in the Arabic script, which was not yet invented at that time?

SunnyboyN

Correction: For the same reason that the primary cast members are all speaking modern-day colloquial English, which is not only inappropriate for the time period, but also for the geographical region. Historically set movies routinely use present-day languages and writing for simplicity. This is a standard movie convention and is not considered a mistake.

Frozen picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where the girlfriend's hand is frozen to the metal bar 50 feet in the air, she forces her hand loose and 1/2" of skin and blood is left frozen to the bar. Later on in the movie, they show the bar and her sitting there, and not even a mark on the bar.

Correction: The skin left on the bar gradually disappears over the next several scenes, implying it was picked off over time, or simply dried up and flaked off in the wind bit by bit. I know I would have picked it off so I wouldn't have to sit there and stare at it.
