Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the film Nicole Kidman is having her wedding photos taken. The photographer poses her for the shot, but when he actually takes the photo, the background has changed. When he poses her, there are just trees and bushes behind her, but when he takes the photo, the trees and bushes are gone and people are walking around.
Continuity mistake: When the female Police Constable is about to leave the house, her tie is loose. The camera angle then cuts to her just before she gets into the police car and her tie is nice and tight.
Factual error: Near the end of the movie, Raul is telling the hunter to not kill the tigers. Throughout the scene, you can hear a bird call. The bird is a grebe. Grebes do not live in the jungle- they are only found near large bodies of water.
Continuity mistake: When the group goes to the diner after their first class, When Bobby takes off her hair piece clip and puts it back on, at first it's smooth then when the shot changes, it's all messed up.
Factual error: A headline from the Pantagraph (an Illinois newspaper) dated 19 December 2001, is shown in big letters to read, "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election." In fact, no edition of the Pentagraph has ever featured an article that claimed this. The only time those words appeared in that newspaper was in small print over a letter to the editor dated 5 December 2001.
Continuity mistake: Ashley Judd is sitting in a bar with Andy Garcia when an ex boyfriend walks in. She says to Andy, "I do not get involved with ex-boyfriends." During that line the camera is to her left and she is holding a drink almost to her mouth. While she says the word "involved," the camera switches to her right side and she is not holding a drink. Other mistake: In the beginning of the film, letters on the screen describe the lady as the "Musican's Wife" It should be "Musician's Wife. "Musician's" is misspelled.
Factual error: When the pilots are over the Gulf of Mexico right before the oil rig is destroyed, one of them reports that the surface pressure is 93 millibars. That's the wrong order of magnitude for a surface pressure reading. Standard atmospheric pressure is 1000 millibars, or 1 bar. During the very worst hurricanes, surface pressure can drop slightly below 900 millibars. So the pressure reading here probably should have been 930 millibars, not 93.
Plot hole: During the end of the film chase scene, Agent Mackelway calls Agent Kulok and gives her a vague location of where they are and asks for back up. Considering Mackelway had been kidnapped and driven out into the country, it should have taken Kulok much longer to arrive at the scene instead of the few minutes that are indicated.
Continuity mistake: After the love scene with Penelopa, Frankie sits down on the chair wearing a green shirt. In the next shot he is wearing a blue bathrobe.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, when John Travolta leaves the bar he is wearing a flip flop on his right foot and a regular shoe on the left. However when he is walking in front of the cemetery the shoes switch feet; regular shoe on the right, flip flop on the left.
Visible crew/equipment: After Aeryn delivers the baby and asks John if he can get them out of there, in the shot after they kiss there's an explosion, and as the Charrid stuntman is thrown into the air we can see the springboard's top platform flip up, which propelled him into the air.
Deliberate mistake: When Dwight Yoakum is being shot by Rita, and he is holding Lew, you can plainly see Lew has earplugs in to muffle the gunshot.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Becky is talking to Steyne on the balcony of his house just after she has performed in the masque for his guests, she still has quite a quantity of black eye make-up visible under and around her eyes. In the next scene, just after they step back inside, it's gone.
Continuity mistake: A box was put on a hand truck. The next shot shows Mr. Winters putting a very large box on the hand truck. The first box had mysteriously disappeared.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where they are in the house after the funeral, Tim is in a room with his mom, where he eventually says "Which one?", then takes off his tie. You then see him outside with a girl and he has no tie. He goes back inside and is talking to two women, and has the tie back on. Then he goes outside again, and the tie has disappeared. Factual error: When Trevor is struck by the VW Beetle, not only is he not thrown forward along the Beetle's path, he actually lands well behind the point of impact - more than half the length of the parked van. He doesn't bounce off another object that changes his direction. He's just thrown up, then falls rearward above the car. (01:08:35)
Continuity mistake: When Allison is on her bed writing a letter to David (when the bad guy comes in) to tell her he loves her, she's written four lines on the paper and then they show it and she's written five lines.
Factual error: (SPOILER ALERT) Aviva is supposed to have had a hysterectomy done on her secretly when she went in to have an abortion. She is shown waking up in the clinic, and her parents elect not to tell her, and as the movie progresses we see that she never finds out. But there are several reasons why this is impossible: 1) A hysterectomy is major surgery - the little storefront clinic Aviva is in would never have been able to perform it. She would have been transfered to a hospital. 2) Similarly, the recovery period for a hysterectomy is weeks long - Aviva would have been hospitalized for weeks, and there's no way she would not have noticed the pain she was in, or the surgical scar, or the fact that she was in a hospital. Yet in the movie she is shown walking out of the clinic the same day. 3) Even if you discount the first two reasons, Aviva would have noticed in the weeks and months afterwards that she was not getting her period, and therefore was incapable of getting pregnant. Yet we see her gamely trying to get pregnant with the trucker guy.
Continuity mistake: When Sam runs into the RA's room to escape the press, she closes the door. When she and James leave the room shortly after, the door opens on the other side of the door frame and there is an "RA" on the outside of the door that wasn't there before.
