Plot hole: When Delila finds out who Jimmy really is, she takes his tuxedo and is apprehended by the bad guys. She then turns on her homing device on her necklace. The office says it will take 20 minutes to get to her. From that statement to when the CSA finally arrives, Jimmy has time to go to Devlin's, write him a letter, discover water striders, find his suit, and get back to Delila and fight the bad guys. THEN CSA shows up. The timing is really off.
Plot hole: When the umbrella ops first get onto the train, rain has to power it up. There were plugs disconnected, and you see a hole in the fence as she shines a flashlight on it. It can't be anything infected because they didn't power down the red queen yet, and release the bioweapons. The red queen isn't physical, just controls systems. And with none of the zombies, or other infected loose yet, what else could have unplugged it? Spence was knocked out on the train, this seems to be a plot hole. (00:02:00 - 00:20:10)
Plot hole: The drug dealer guy gives Arnie a hood to wear so as to not see where they were going. When he puts it on we can see his face through it like a streched sock or something, meaning he could still see.
Plot hole: Why wouldn't the police evacuate the area around the booth where an armed (they think) homicidal maniac is making a phone call? All those people would be well within gun range and the city would have been held liable had any of them been shot. Step one is usually to secure the scene for the safety of the public. (00:32:05)
Plot hole: It's a good thing Sheldon didn't listen to Nora and change the cookie song, because if he had all the kids would still be singing Sheldon's cookie song (since they don't know about the change) thereby ruining the show without Rainbow Randolph's interference.
Plot hole: Mun has an eye transplant, and this gives her the ability to see the dead. However, how come she can also hear the ghosts as well?
Plot hole: When they were on the boat fighting, the girl that got shot in the head would be moving instead of just lying there.
Plot hole: When the pilot rolls the plane to dump the suitcase carrying the bomb, Snake grabs hold and falls out of the plane with it. Snake saves himself from falling to his death by grabbing the railing of the open door. The weight of the suitcase would have either ripped one of Snake's limbs off or would have ripped the railing from the door.
Suggested correction: The suitcase was able to be picked up by Puggy so it didn't weigh enough to rip an arm off. Also railings on stairs have to be able to support lots of weight. They are designed to withstand 1000lbs+.
Plot hole: In the scene where Richard Gere is looking at his reflection in the motel bathroom mirror, he imagines smashing his face into the mirror. When the phone rings, breaking his hallucination, he still has blood on his hands but it is never addressed.
Plot hole: Towards the end of the film when Private Shakespeare is talking to the wounded soldier, his coat and hair are suddenly dry, strange when the majority of the film is set outdoors in the rain.
Plot hole: Days after Hap's killing Ellie finds a shell casing from a Walther handgun. I find it hard to believe that the police wouldn't comb the scene of a cop's murder enough to find a bright shell lying on black rocks.
Plot hole: It seemed to take the police an awfully long time to get to the hospital once it was taken under seige. It seemed to take the camera man an excess of 10 minutes to realize something was wrong. After John took the camera out it was another estimated 15-25 minutes before the police came. I find it hard to believe that the police would be that slow to get to a hospital and that the camera operator would take a few minutes before phoning something in.
Plot hole: Clint Eastwood's whole investigation/solution is based on him suspecting that the victims had a common tie, rather than being random. The problem is there is no reason for him to think this - there is no reason given for them to not be considered random victims. For him to think otherwise was a bit far fetched. In the book, however, they were all on the organ donor list, which led him to the fact they all had the same rare blood type and so on.
Suggested correction: Not really farfetched. It's a common plot device for a cop to look for a link. When he finds out Gloria gave blood, he remembered the sticker in the other victim's car.
Plot hole: When the FBI finds out that Dolarhyde knows where Graham lives, they send a chopper and some agents over to Graham's house to pick up his wife and son. His wife is startled by the noise of the chopper SUDDENLY appearing without any warning. How could she have not heard the chopper approaching or seen the light?
Plot hole: Throughout the movie, the flies are vulnerable to light (direct sunlight and even lightbulbs) to the point of incinerating in a split second. Except... they are not; in several sequences they fly to and from bodies and without even taking a direct path (look at all the action happening in front of the house, by the cars, in broad daylight).
Plot hole: How can they have gotten confirmation to launch the missile from Moscow if the insulation on their transmitter was damaged? If it was a separate transmitter, why not use it in some way to contact Moscow during their crisis?
Plot hole: When someone is in a coma for 28 days, the hospital would have AT LEAST have catheterized said person, however when Jim wakes up in the hospital he is not attached to anything but an IV.
Suggested correction: What happened when Jim was admitted is never revealed. Being that there is nothing to show what happened when he was admitted its impossible to say certain procedures would have been followed or more simply the hospital might have not undertaken them. More importantly we don't know when the virus hit certain areas. In addition Jim was taken in around the time the virus was first starting to spread and hospitals would be the most likely place someone infected would be taken to so many working or staying there would have been the first to have been infected. With that scenario the staff at the hospital might have neglected some of their patients because of how quickly the virus spread.
If the hospitals would have been some of the first infection sites, why would Jim have survived the entire 28 days? I doubt someone was refilling his IV on a regular schedule if the patients are becoming violent animals, which would suggest he would have died of dehydration before starvation would have gotten to him. Also, why would those infected ignore Jim while he was comatose? Would it not be 'sporting'? Given how instinctual they seem to become I don't see how comatose would be any different from intoxicated or deeply asleep. Did all of those sorts avoid infection as well?
