Continuity mistake: When Jon and the others emerge onto the other side of the wall, there are 4 people with torches. Pay attention to the one at the back on the screen left. He has his torch in his left hand in this shot, but as the shot changes to the front he now has his torch in his right hand. (00:44:30)
Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things - S1-E4
Continuity mistake: When Ned and Petyr are walking and talking about Sir Hugh of the Vale, they pass a wheelbarrow while walking in a straight line that simply vanishes from the side of the path. (00:28:05)
Continuity mistake: When Ned executes the deserter, the wide leather straps of Ned's cloak are crisscrossed with his left over his right. But when Ned walks over to Bran, the straps are now crisscrossed the opposite way. Not due to flipped shots.
Deliberate mistake: During the "previously on Game of Thrones" snippets, before the opening credits sequence, there are two flipped shots of Sansa and Jaime as she tells him that she has always wanted to be there for Cersei's execution, but she won't get the chance. (00:01:45)
Continuity mistake: When Grey Worm leads Tyrion to the Dragonpit, as they pass the column of Unsullied their long individual shadows are directly to their sides, but in the next shot the Unsullied are seen in the background and the shadows are entirely different. (00:46:00)
Continuity mistake: When Arya stabs the Night King it's high on his chest, piercing his leather armor. In the next wide shot, the dagger is lower and not in the armor.
Continuity mistake: When Daenerys is dead she has blood underneath her back and hair, and as the camera is above her, her right arm is curved or bent a little. When Drogon picks her up her arm is now straight and despite the blood on the ground she seems to be completely clean. No blood on her back, hair or scarf. Then as Drogon flies away, how on earth did he pick her up with his left hind leg? Did he twist his leg 180° to pick her up with his front claw?
Continuity mistake: While Jaime and the High Sparrow are standing beside Myrcella's body in the Sept, in the overhead shot of Myrcella her right hand is placed over her left hand, but in other shots it's the opposite way. (00:18:30)
Continuity mistake: Arya and Syrio are practising at the start, we see them stop with their swords touching and crossed. Camera changes and Syrio's sword is much lower and no longer touching Arya's. (00:02:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jon is taking his vow at the tree, the red markings on the tree change between shots. 2 single lines become joined, and a third single line becomes less smudged. (00:45:00)
Continuity mistake: When the group of men emerge at the other side of the wall, the last man with a torch has it held vertically. Camera cuts and now it is held at around a 45 degree angle. (00:44:30)
Continuity mistake: When Bran is asking about where his mother has gone he is playing with a lure. Between instant cuts the position of the lure in his hand is constantly changing. (00:15:20)
Continuity mistake: After the attack on Catelyn we see Bran Luwin and Theon talking while Theon is practising archery, the arrows in the board are constantly changing position and appearing and disappearing with no time to do so. (00:13:50)
Continuity mistake: When Daenerys dies, in the close up her head is parallel to the ground, looking up at Jon. Cut to a wide shot and her head's hanging much further backwards, plus her eyes are suddenly closed.
Continuity mistake: When we see the dead deer at the start there are maggotts all over the face of the deer. Between camera angles, the position of the maggots differ drastically. (00:15:00)
Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Robb and Blackfish Tully are pushing Hoster Tully's funeral boat down the river. When they climb back onto the dock, there is already a trail of water going from the steps and ending where Robb ends up standing. None of the other characters standing on this portion of the dock have wet clothes, meaning none of them went into the river, indicating that the trail of water was from previous takes.
Revealing mistake: Just after Jon is told he is confined to quarters, there is a shot of outside with snow falling. However the snow is actually rising. Indicating the shot has been reversed. (00:22:55)
Continuity mistake: Catelyn confronts her sister about the raven's message that arrived at dawn. When she does, the roll of paper is rolled completely differently between the 2 camera angles. (00:16:05)
Continuity mistake: When the guard is hitting Tyrion in the sky cell, Tyrion has his arms outstretched in one shot and against the wall in the next. (00:14:00)
Answer: This is explained more in the book. Khal Drogo and his bloodriders do intend to help Viserys take the throne, however they do things in their own time. This is what causes Viserys's frustration. In the book, Illyrio Mopatis tells Viserys that he has already waited his entire life to claim The Iron Throne and that waiting a few more years isn't that big of a deal. The Dothraki are a nomadic tribe, which is largely why they have no interest in invading and sacking King's Landing. However, since Khal Drogo eventually grows to love Dany, her assassination attempt by the Westerosi compels him to seek revenge.
