Continuity: When Pacey is driving Joey back from Boston in the morning, they start talking about what happened. Every shot of Pacey or Joey from either side shows a heavily wooded forest (mostly pine trees it looks like) in the background. But when Pacey abruptly veers off the road to the right and parks; suddenly the landscape on Joey's side is barren with a huge lake, and no forest or trees except a few they just passed on the curve. The pine tree footage was probably added in to make Wilmington, NC look more like Capeside, Mass.

Trivia
Originally, they were thinking of actually moving the show "Dawson's Creek" to another city in order to send off the main characters to Boston for College, etc. Cities considered as locations for College, etc. were Montreal, Vancouver, Baltimore, Austin, and San Diego. Baltimore ended up being the easiest city to 'fake as Boston'. But ultimately it was decided that it was simply too expensive to move the show; so they ended up sending their main characters to Boston, but actually keeping the show in Wilmington, NC and filming there during the 'College Years'. Revealing: When Joey and Pacey are talking in the car as Pacey drives them to the Train Station, you can see at least 3 lanes full of cars and a great deal of traffic behind them. But when Pacey suddenly turns right, off the main road and into the entrance to the Train Station; you can see that suddenly the main road he has just turned off of is almost completely empty of any traffic in either direction, except a truck that drives by at the last minute. It also appears to be a smaller road. Apparently the scenes with their dialogue in the car were shot with background video that wasn't the actual location.
Plot hole: When they are all leaving after AJ's award ceremony, Joey announces she wants to go back to AJ's dorm room. Morgan is not going back to the dorm, but is going out to the 'Arboraterium' which sounds like a club. Morgan has lent Joey her coat, but right before Morgan leaves, Joey catches her and hands her back her coat. Morgan accepts the coat without any protests and takes it with her. Why would Morgan accept the coat back from Joey when it's still cold out? This all seems rather illogical, as Joey still has to walk a distance in the cold night air without any type of covering over a scanty dress. She could have kept wearing Morgan's coat, since she and AJ were going back to his room in the dorm anyway and either one of them could have returned it to Morgan later. And handing it to Morgan when Joey still needs the coat is also illogical; as Morgan is not going back to the dorm but is going out to a club, and now has to carry two coats with her before eventually returning home. It would have made more sense for Joey to have returned the coat after she was through with it, at a more convenient time since Morgan was also living in the dorms. It also seems odd that AJ himself wouldn't have offered something of his for Joey to wear after Morgan left; as he had on a few layers of clothing including his outer coat, and she had bare shoulders as they walked in the freezing night air.
