The One With The Jellyfish - S4-E1

Continuity mistake: Phoebe and her mother are in her mother's house at the beach. Phoebe has just found out that Phoebe senior is her real mother. Have a look at Phoebe's mother in this episode and the last episode of series 3 (The One At The Beach). Her hair is a lot shorter in series 4 even though no time has passed in the storyline. The One With The Jellyfish - S4-E1

Continuity mistake: When Chandler, Joey and Monica tell their story of the jellyfish bite Chandler says sometimes at night he still hears Joey's voice screaming "Do it ! Do it!". Joey says he yells it through the wall at night to freak Chandler out, but no nights have passed. They tell the story the same day the jellyfish bite occurred. Notice Rachel, Ross and Phoebe are wearing the same clothes they had before they left the beach house. (00:16:20)

The One With The Jellyfish - S4-E1

Continuity mistake: In the last few seconds of season 3, Ross closes the door immediately after he steps through it. However, in the opening seconds of season 4, we see this same event from the other side of the door. This time however, Ross doesn't close the door for at least 15-20 seconds after entering the room.

The One With The 'Cuffs - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: Joey's encounter with the encyclopedia salesman is riddled with errors. First, when the salesman is talking about Van Gogh and saying "He painted that," he points to a page that is all text; later, Joey is reading about vomit, and it is at a pont much further on in the book than when the salesman read about vulcanized rubber (which it shouldn't be, given the encyclopedia is alphabetized); finally, when Joey buys the "V" volume, as he opens it he has a $50 bill in his hand, and when the shot changes to show the salesman he is somehow folding and pocketing it without having taken it from Joey. The One With The 'Cuffs - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: In Joanna's office, Chandler and Rachel are pulling his pants from one another while he is cuffed to the filing cabinet. Right before Rachel says "What if I clean your bathroom for a month?" she throws the pants onto a chair, but then when Chandler later says "Freedom. I want my freedom. Why won't you hear me?" he opens the door to yell to Sophie and they are both holding the pants again. (00:15:10)

The One With The 'Cuffs - S4-E3

Continuity mistake: The handcuffs that Joanna uses on Chandler have a single metal bar connected via pivot to a double bar with the lock area. When Joanna first cuffs Chandler, the double bars on both sides face up at his wrists, but when Chandler's on the phone and when Rachel unlocks his right cuff, the handcuffs are going round his wrist the opposite way with the single bars facing up - quite impossible. Then the same thing occurs when Rachel handcuffs Chandler to the filing cabinet.

The One With Joey's New Girlfriend - S4-E5

Continuity mistake: Chandler is chasing Kathy down the street trying to get her attention. During a close-up of him running, just before the camera cuts away we see a guy's face on the left; when it cuts back to Chandler he runs for a while and then encounters the same guy (the dog-walker). Also, when he finally lands in front of Kathy, there is a bike rider coming towards them, but as the camera cuts back and forth between the two, the rider never passes them. (00:11:30)

The One With Joey's New Girlfriend - S4-E5

Continuity mistake: In the bar, Kathy is trying to set Chandler up with one of her friends. When the camera is facing Chandler, we see Kathy's hand rubbing Joey's back, but when it cuts to a front shot of Joey and Kathy, her arm is down in front of her. Then without having had enough time to move, her elbow is up on the table and she is holding hands with Joey. (00:16:10)

The One With Joey's New Girlfriend - S4-E5

Continuity mistake: When Ross goes to Amanda's house for a date you see her two children sitting on the couch. The little boy with blonde hair is sitting down, when it cuts to Ross and Amanda talking the boy is standing up on the couch, the next shot he's sat down as Amanda walks out the door.

The One With The Dirty Girl - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode where they are watching Ross through the window, Phoebe is leaning forward and standing to the left of the pole next to Chandler. When the shot changes to Ross coming through the door, she is suddenly standing up straight and is now behind Joey and Chandler. (00:00:10)

The One With The Dirty Girl - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: When Ross is making out with Cheryl in her apartment, he gets chocolate syrup on his fingers. In the following shots the chocolate syrup has disappeared. While he wipes his hand on the sofa, no way that would leave his hand perfectly clean.

The One With The Dirty Girl - S4-E6

Continuity mistake: When Ross and Cheryl are standing in the hall outside Cheryl's apartment, she's holding her keys in her right hand when she asks Ross if he'd like to come in, but after Ross makes the joke about Homo erectus, Cheryl opens her hand and the keys have vanished from her hand.

The One With Ross's Teeth - S6-E8

Monica: What happened to your teeth?
Ross: I whitened them.
Chandler: Really?
Ross: Yeah, what... What do you think?
Monica: Well, uh, I think I shouldn't look directly at them.
Ross: Come on, seriously.
Monica: Ross, they're really, really, really white!
Chandler: Yeah, what was wrong with your old... Human teeth?
Ross: Well, I did leave the gel on a little longer than it said to.
Monica: How much longer?
Ross: Uh, uh... A day.
Monica: Ross, you know that tonight is your date with Hillary?
Ross: I know! That's why I did it! Come on, are they really that bad?
Chandler: No. No, no, no, you'll be fine. Hilary's blind, right?
Monica: She will be after tonight.

The One With The Jellyfish - S4-E1

Question: When Ross and Rachel are fighting, Chandler hides behind the door and bursts out saying, "I knew it!" When Rachel says, "It's not that common, it doesn't happen to every guy, and it is a big deal!" is this just a Chandler moment or is there another joke I have missed?

Answer: The statements that she's contradicting (that it is common, it happens to every guy, and it's not a big deal), are the things that a woman commonly says to a man who is suffering from erectile difficulty, typically to assuage his bruised ego. However, most men do not believe that these statements are true, as evidenced by Chandler's outburst. He's so caught up in the proof that women are lying about it that he gives himself away.
