Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Corrected entry: If Vanellope uses the medal from Hero's Duty, how would the roster recognise it was her? in fact, it wouldn't register anybody, because it is from a totally different game.

Correction: Apparently, the Cup recognizes the person who tosses a coin into it. Just as the other drivers didn't have "personalized" coins, Vanellope's coin would identify her as the person who was last in possession of it.

A Few Good Men (1992)

Corrected entry: When Kaffey and Ross are having a beer discussing the case, Ross says, "I don't believe your clients belong in jail, but I don't get to make that decision". The thing is, as the prosecutor, he DOES get to make that decision. He has the authority to not only negotiate plea deals but also to drop charges altogether if he feels there isn't enough evidence to support them.

Correction: First of all, Ross tried to offer a deal but Caffey rejected it. Secondly, Ross could not drop the charges because the evidence supported bringing the two Marines to a court martial. And third, Ross could make recommendations to the court regarding sentencing but does not have the final say. The judge does.

MovieFan612

Also, a military prosecutor in a court-martial has a lot less leeway in such matters than a civilian prosecutor would in civilian court.

Corrected entry: When the English teacher quizzes his students on who invented the paperback book, the serial and the term "cliffhanger", the answer he gives is Charles Dickens, which is wrong. Thomas Hardy invented the notion, and not in his first book but in his third, A Pair of Blue Eyes. As far as the rest is concerned, Hardy is also well-known for his serial novels, and anyway, I think paperback books and serials would rather have been invented by publishers than writers.

Correction: Dickens first used the idea of the paperback for publishing "The PickWick Papers" [serialized March 1836 to October 1837]. Hardy's "A Pair of Blue Eyes" was serialized nearly FORTY years later [September 1872 and July 1873.] See this source, as one of many, which cite to Dickens as inventing the idea/term/notion of "paperback. http://www.directworks.org/students/marketing-careers-for-students/career-resources/what-dickens-did-for-direct.

Lincoln (2012)

Corrected entry: At one point Lincoln is recognised from his effigy on a 50-cent piece. No living American has ever been depicted on US coins. Lincoln's portrait now familiar on 1-cent coins did not appear until 1909.

Correction: From http://www.kennedymint.net/fractional_currency/fractional_currency.asp?cat2=50+Cents&cat3=Lincoln+Fractional+Currency&cat4=1869-1875+50+Cent+4th+Issue: Fractional Currency was issued by the United States from 1862 to 1875. During the Civil War, the hoarding of coins required the U. S. Government to issue the making of this interesting short-lived series of notes. Notes were issued in denominations of 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cents. There were 28 different, major types of these unusual notes issued. They remain legal tender to this day.

Ice Age (2002)

Corrected entry: At the start of the movie, when the pig-type creatures are playing "Extinction", one of them dips his trunk in the mud. In the next shot of him, the mud has disappeared. (00:04:05)

Correction: We see the mud sliding off of their skin immediately during this sequence.

Correction: No, it doesn't. That's the last shot of the scene. We just don't see him wipe it off.

Correction: This entry corrects itself: Joey is shown living there BY Thanksgiving.... so he moved in during the prior summer.

Brave (2012)

Corrected entry: Queen Elinor eats the witch's cake that Merida gave to her the same day that the triplets ate it. On the 2nd sunrise when Queen Elinor was transforming into a real bear (Her eyes turn black like they always do when she is a real bear) we see the triplets and they are not transforming into real bears. It is the 2nd sunrise for them and Queen Elinor so they should turn into real bears.

kronn_hunter

Correction: The triplets were acting like bears CUBS, playing, romping, mischief-making. They would not be exhibiting ferocious tendencies, as Elinor did, as a full-grown bear cow.

Brave (2012)

Corrected entry: At the end, when the lords leave on their ships, the triplets stow away on one of those ships. As a result, Fergus has to chase after them in a row boat. In the final shot where Merida and Elinor riding their horses before we see the whips one last time, the lords' ships are seen in the background distance, but not Fergus and his dogs. (01:33:00)

Correction: Because Fergus had already retrieved the triplets and was back in the harbor. There is no indication that Merida and Elinor riding the horses occurred immediately after the ships left the shore.

Corrected entry: When Katniss is looking at the scenery in her room, she has some hair blocking her left eye. When the camera goes back to her, it is not blocking her eye anymore. (00:36:10)

Lois

Correction: There is enough time between camera angles - from being directed at Katniss and then at the screen - for her hair to have been pushed aside.

The Hunger Games (2012)

Corrected entry: Before Peeta throws the big metal ball in the training room, Marvel, Clove, and Cato are watching him. But after Peeta throws the ball, the camera shows Marvel, Glimmer, and Cato. Clove and Glimmer have switched places.

Correction: Right, before he throws the ball they are gathered together in a small group. After he throws the ball they are still gathered in a small group, but there is definitely enough time between shots for the characters to move.

Mystic River (2003)

Correction: No, Jimmy (Sean Penn) says, "Drink up, Dave." He says it in a very low voice but he definitely says, "Dave", not "Tim". And the subtitles match as well.

Open Season (2006)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Boog breaks the dam, Shaw tries to close his window. It is about 3/4 closed, but when his truck goes underwater, his truck doesn't flood.

josh26220

Correction: It's about 3/4 closed the last time we see it from the side; however, Shaw has plenty of time to close the window entirely by the time the truck is completely engulfed by the water -- we just don't see that because the camera angle moves from him to Boog to Elliott and back.

Flesh and Blood - S1-E19

Corrected entry: Reese is wearing his topcoat towards the end while on the phone with Det. Carter, telling her that he will bring her son to safety. Carter takes another call and when she gets back to Reese a minute later, he is standing at the trunk of his car putting his coat on.

bnemirow

Correction: Not a mistake -- he has removed his coat in order to get his weapons from the trunk and puts the coat back on to conceal his weapons.

Mona Lisa Smile (2003)

Corrected entry: When the Wellesley College boss dictates to her secretary the key letter offering Julia Roberts a new contract but with teaching/artistic conditions which lead to Ms Roberts leaving, the secretary uses Teeline shorthand. The film is set in 1953/54, Teeline was invented by one James Hill in 1968. (01:43:00)

Correction: The secretary is using Gregg shorthand, first publicized in 1888.

MovieFan612

Correction: This would only be a mistake if he squeezed it less than 12 times. Doing it more is just "extra".

MovieFan612

Season 2 generally

Corrected entry: During the opening sequence for Season 2, all the floating people have shadows visible on the house. When Robert walks by the house, he doesn't cast a shadow on the house but he does on Raymond, therefore the floating people and the house behind them are products of green screen filming.

Correction: No.... only Robert walks in front of Raymond -- all the others go past behind him. Their shadows would be further back (i.e., onto the house), where Robert's would be only as far as Raymond (even taking into account his height).

Turkey or Fish - S1-E10

Corrected entry: Retrieving the fish, Ray whips open the door to a still-running dishwasher. Dishwashers won't run until a locking latch is in place, so he should not have been able to do that. Some dishwashers have push lever latches, like some cars have squeeze lever handles.

mirtom

Correction: My late-model dishwasher can be opened during a wash cycle. It has a pinch-type mechanism at the top and the agitator will still be turning and water still dripping when it is opened during the cycle. So this is not an impossibility and not a mistake.

Happy Feet Two (2011)

Corrected entry: Feather on Mumble in movie looks different from feather from ending of first movie (less fur, small part of yellow feather).

Correction: Mumble was not quite a full adult penguin at the end of the first film. Obviously, the filmmakers made these changes to reflect the passage of time and his full maturity.

Friends (1994)
