King of the Hill (1997)

Little Horrors of Shop - S4-E4

Continuity mistake: When Dale & Hank are taking a spa in the house Dale is fumigating, Dale gets out of the spa. We see Hank has a headrest behind his head that is pink. The next shot is a close up of Hank's face and the headrest is now a light brown.

Aisle 8A - S4-E5

Continuity mistake: After Connie tells Hank she is experiencing her first period, Hank consults the book that Connie's parents left for Hank. There is a close up of the folder from Hank's point of view and you see there are not many pages on each side. You can tell this as you can see the binder's covers below the papers on each side and there is not much material on either side. The next shot that shows Hank skimming through the papers each side of the folder has a lot more papers on each side than the previous shot.

King of the Hill (1997)

Little Horrors of Shop - S4-E4

Continuity mistake: After Hank has been made to take forced leave from work, there is a shot of the house and the background you can tell by the color the sun is rising. In the next shot when Peggy is pretending to conduct in the kitchen with the kitchen utensil you can see a blue sky outside the kitchen window. There is no way the sun rose that quickly in the space of a second.

Revealing mistake: After Ace loses the guys in the car chase who kidnap Dan Marino, Ace goes hurtling through the park in his car and smashes through a picnic table. Just before his car flips you can see his windshield is smashed but no holes through it. As the car flips over the bush there is a sizeable hole in the windshield on the drivers side. Its likely the hole was for the stunt driver to look through on the flip. Ace in his car has to keep his head out the window to see anything in front of him (because of the smashed windshield). On the flip the guy has his head in the car. Later on the hole has fixed itself. We see this as Ace is driving Dan Marino to the Superbowl the windshield is still smashed but no hole and throughout the film its made very clear Ace doesn't have the money to fix it up at any point. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Ace's car flips over you can see the left wheel is elevated over the bush. If you look closely there is a wooden plank there to help the car lift itself over the bush. The other mistake in the shot is that there is no conceivable way the bush would have flipped the car. Unless there was something very solid in front of the bush, the car would have just gone right through the bush. (00:52:05)

Continuity mistake: When Ace is talking to the dog in Roger Pedactors apartment (after his death), he picks up the dog when Einhorn approaches. As he is picking up the dog he places his left hand around the dogs neck. In the next split second shot his left hand is around the dog's body. (00:37:55)

Question: In the UK (Region 2) version of the film, the scene in which Ace pretends to be Hans the dolphin trainer was removed. Can anyone tell me the specific reason why it was removed? Also do any other versions around the world (notably US and Australian versions) remove the scene?

Lummie

Chosen answer: That scene was cut originally by the director Tom Shadyack because the scene did not support the story and thought it slowed the film down. (And the scene was cut from the US version as well.) It was added back later in TV versions of the film. Fan enjoyed the scene so much they asked it be put back in the film version. I know the DVD has it because I own it. It's hilarious!

The Simpsons (1989)

Bart-Mangled Banner - S15-E21

Question: When the Simpsons go on the TV show to try and explain themselves, what show was this a send up of where the guy speaks really loud? I believe it's a show from Fox News.

Lummie

Chosen answer: I believe the character is a parody of the "Hardball" host, Chris Matthews, who is seen by some as a loud host who gives guests no time to answer poltical questions.

Batman Forever (1995)

Question: What is the point of the Riddler stopping Harvey (Two-Face) from killing Bruce Wayne when they are in his mansion? They now know that Bruce Wayne is Batman and their goal all along was to kill Batman. Essentially I can understand they want to torture Bruce by kidnapping Chase, but it seems like a huge risk that they don't really need to take as Batman is very elusive and this was a prime opportunity to take him out.

Lummie

Chosen answer: They are both nuts and extremely arrogant. They are also suffering from "Supervillain Syndrome" wherin the villain will toy with and never kill his nemesis even though it will get him caught/defeated in the end. It's just how comic book villains are.

Grumpy Scot

Also, they specifically say they want him awake, aware and capable of suffering humiliation and shame when they destroy him. Also, since they have a hostage he values very highly, they can be reasonably sure he'll come to them afterwards, Riddler out-and-out says so.

There's No Disgrace Like Home - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: As Homer is carrying the TV towards the pawn shop in the first shot the left window is clear. There is then a tracking shot of the family walking and when they get in front of the store the window has writing on it saying Pawn Shop. The writing is in black and the next shot when they are talking the writing is now dark brown. (00:14:20)

The Simpsons (1989)

Marge Gets a Job - S4-E7

Audio problem: Ms. Krabappel is telling Bart about the laundry list of sicknesses he had to get out of the test. You can see her mouth doesn't match up when she mentions "...and that unfortunate case of rabies." The studio actually changed what Ms. Krabappel originally said which was "and that unfortunate case of "Tourette's Syndrome." [Some reports say that the original line of Tourette's Syndrome was left in syndications in certain areas. On the DVD version the rabies line has been used]. (00:16:00)

I Never Promised You an Organic Garden - S7-E18

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Peggy still finds insects over the tomatoes, she goes to show Hank one of the tomatoes. As she is showing the tomato it has around six or seven flies buzzing around it. The next shot shows Peggy from behind still holding the tomato, and you can see there is not one fly around the tomato anymore.

Law & Order (1990)

Self Defense - S3-E7

Audio problem: As the Stone and Schiff are watching the news report on the security camera tape the reporter has a voice over going whilst the tape is playing. Towards the end of the tape she is shown on TV and is doing a report on the case. You can see her lips don't come close to synching up with what she is saying. The piece was already airing on TV, so very doubtful the TV station missed the large discrepancy.

Law & Order (1990)

The Wheel - S13-E9

Plot hole: During the beginning moments when the couple go to the top floor, as they are going to the roof they discover a lot of smoke on the penthouse floor which leads them to seeing the charred corpse in the hallway. The only problem is that with the smouldering body wouldn't it have set off the smoke alarm or fire alarm? The building is a very posh apartment block and they are on the penthouse floor making the likelihood something as basic as a fire alarm would be triggered. The killing was more in the heat of the moment and most likely the killer burned the body then and there making the probability of a lot of fire on the floor very high. Even if the woman had been burnt somewhere else and brought back to the floor there is no way the smoke around wouldn't at least have set off the fire alarm or sprinklers.

Team America: World Police mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Gary is remembering at the start of the film the incident with his family and is looking at the picture in the mirror, you can see there are 4 people in it. The next shot when Gary is speaking with Spottswoode the picture (to the left) has changed to being just 2 people in the picture.

My Sacrificial Clam - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: As Dr Cox is talking to J.D. towards the end of the episode and telling him that he won't let him treat the patient he traded, Dr Cox is putting on his white overcoat. If you look at his collar on the right side it is a little crumpled and not quite straight. The next shot we see over his shoulder and the collar has straightened out. The following shot it returns back to being crumpled up a bit.

Elf (2003)

Continuity mistake: When Emily is eating spaghetti, you can see she is only using a fork and there is a knife next to the plate. In the next shot the knife is now on the plate despite the fact she only uses the fork to eat throughout the scene (also there is no sauce on the knife so very doubtful she used it to help her eat the spaghetti). In the following shot of her the knife is back by the side of her plate again. (00:44:55)

Chappelle's Show (2003)

Ep. #105 - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: During the film "Left foot, Long foot" when he's being interviewed for Inside Chappelle's Show Studio , you can see a bit of blood on the top right of his forehead after he gets up after slipping on the skateboard. In one of the following shots when he is looking around at the crowd applauding him you can see the blood is now down by his nose. The next shot it back up the top of his forehead and the following shot its even further down his nose than before.
