Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Correction: Offworld Stargates are controlled by a Dial-Up Device, they probably don't need to dial themselves up manually like Earth, because earth has no Dialer.

Little Nicky (2000)

Corrected entry: Nicky tells his brother that when he left, their dad got sick, but his brother said "I'm glad he's dying" but he did not yet know that his father was dying.

Sol Parker

Correction: Since their father is the Devil and pretty much Immortal, we can assume that anything that will make him sick is fully capable of killing him and his son probably knew that.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Corrected entry: Where in the English speaking world is there fully ripened corn in the middle of January? Certainly not near Washington D.C.

Sol Parker

Correction: Just part of the jokey nature of the film.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Prisoners - S2-E3

Corrected entry: When a stargate first opens, we see what looks like a splash of water. In "Prisoners" we learn that this is an unstable wormhole being established between stargates, we also learn that anything in the way of the splash will be instantly disintegrated. How then is the Iris not disintegrated when the stargate opens while it is closed? Granted, the iris is slightly inside the event horizon, but if it would not be affected because of that, the splash should be seen coming past the iris. Neither of these things ever happens.

Sol Parker

Correction: It is thought of that a wormhole can still be established even if the "splash" is prevented due to the iris as in episode "A Hundred Days" where the stargate is buried, they are still able to dial to it because an iris of sorts was formed (they explain this), they used a proton accelerator (or something) to create a space. Once the space is large enough they can then dial and the "splash" will encompass the whole cavern making it even larger. So for the splash to occur there just needs to be a volume large enough to encompass a minimum amount of the splash.

Batman (1989)

Corrected entry: A miniature of the Batwing and the city were used to shoot the wide shots of the Batwing flying through the city.

Sol Parker

Correction: We don't have the technology to build a full size, real life Batwing and fly it through a real life Gotham city. I doubt the movie would have the budget either. Not really trivia - how else were they supposed to make it?

South Park (1997)

Correction: This is not a mistake because Cartman said it. For one, Cartman is stupid and gets things wrong all the time. In addition, many people in real life make the same mistake because no one pays attention to the diet information in the commercials, just the fact that he lost weight by eating Subway.

Professor Chaos - S6-E6

Corrected entry: When the boys are at the amusement park with all their potential new friends, Ike is with them, not only is Ike Kyle's little brother who is in kindergarten, not 4th Grade like all the other kids, but Kyle is always trying to get rid of Ike. Why would Ike be in competition to be one of the friends?

Sol Parker

Correction: Since Ike is always following Kyle around, he obviously wants to be one of the boys. Kyle probably let Ike enter the contest just to get his entry fee, with no real intention of letting Ike make the final 10.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Corrected entry: When the blondes pick up the phone it should have picked up the line, but the girl presses the button, in reality, she just would have hung up on the person on the other line.

Sol Parker

Correction: On my phone even if it is on the charger base I need to hit the button to talk - it all depends of what type of phone you have.

Blade II (2002)

Corrected entry: The way Blade kills Reinhardt is very similar to how he kills Quinn in the first movie, the whole way through it is played up and then at the end, Blade kills them both with a single swish of his sword.

Sol Parker

Correction: In the first movie Blade doesn't have his sword when he kills Quinn. He uses a garrote pulled from his pants and slices Quinn's head off, as he does to the vampire on the motorbike at the start of this film.

Corrected entry: Sophie lays on the ground bleeding for quite some time, yet she never applies pressure to the wound, and she never tries bandaging it. She seems to spurt quite a lot of blood when her arm is first chopped off. Additionally she was interrogated by "The Bride" afterwards, surely she would have bled to death.

Sol Parker

Correction: As the movie is basically an homage to, among other things, 1970's martial arts films, this was done on purpose. For example, throughout the movie we see more blood spurting out of people's wounds than the human body even contains. It was an intentional exaggeration.

Corrected entry: The story is that SkyNet launches missiles against enemies of the US so that they would in return launch missiles against the US. But this is set in the present day, and computers have never been given control of launching nuclear missiles. Computers have only been given control of the warning systems, with no ability to control launches directly, virus/AI or not.

Sol Parker

Correction: But we have to assume that in this scenario the computer has total control of the missiles, other wise there would be no point to Skynet - it's been designed from the start to be able to control the entire defense network.

Corrected entry: You will have to stay past the credits to see this one. The monkey is back in the cave having swum back to shore, but monkeys do not swim. How did it get from the ship to the cave?

Sol Parker

Correction: Some monkeys can swim (http://www.monkeymaddness.com/bbm/bbm3094.htm).

Corrected entry: You will have to stay past the credits to see this one. The monkey swims back to shore, but you can see that he is just walking on a platform about a foot below the water.

Sol Parker

Correction: There is no platform visible. The water is probably very shallow there.

STP

Corrected entry: In the battle involving the elephant, a man falls off the elephant and lands on the ground next to the hobbits. If you play it in slow motion, you can see the man change spinning directions in the air three times.

Sol Parker

Correction: It's because the man touches the Oliphant during his fall. He changes his direction only once.

Corrected entry: Why would the entire crew leave a ship at full sail (the Interceptor) to board a ship at half sail (the Dauntless)? Presumably the ship at full sail would be still moving.

Sol Parker

Correction: This one has already been corrected. The sails of the Interceptor are turned so as not to catch any wind.

Corrected entry: When Kristoff dies, he sings the La Resistance song, but he was not at the warehouse when it was sung.

Sol Parker

Correction: In the warehouse scenes, it is actually Gregory who starts singing the 'La Resistance' song, and then mentions that the boys must go and see his friend, Christoff. If Gregory knew the song, and was good friends with Christoff, (who was another rebellious freedom fighter type just like Gregory), then there is every possibility that Christoff knew the song too, or that it was those two who made the song up.

Padzter

Corrected entry: When Arnie is swiped off the end of the crane, we see it blowing in the wind as the crane speeds down the road. This particular part of the crane weighs several hundred lbs. and should not be blowing in the wind.

Sol Parker

Correction: It wasn't blowing in the wind. It was swinging with momentum after it collided with the fire truck.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Corrected entry: When it shows the dogs using the bong, after the dog spits out the tube, the bong still bubbles, bongs don't bubble if no one is using them.

Sol Parker

Correction: Someone didn't do their homework on a LEGAL item. It's not a bong, it's actually a hookah smoker, used in many parts of the Arabian World. With my hookah, the charcoal bubbles the water (which is in a small dish on the top of the machine), regardless of whether someone is blowing into it.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Corrected entry: Cindy says everyone at work is taking Martin Luther King Jr. Day off. How can this be, she works at a news broadcast station, they have to work every day.

Sol Parker

Correction: This movie is a spoof. How can it be that a Coors commercial is suddenly re-enacted in the station, complete with lighting and music? The idea that a TV station would be off for MLK Day is completely consistent within the genre.

Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Exodus (1) - S4-E22

Corrected entry: The ring transporter device is being used incorrectly in this episode. When you go up, the rings come from above, get you, and then go back up. When you go down, the rings come from below, get you and then go back down. Several times when the characters are going back and forth between the planet and the ship, the rings come up from the ground and then go back down when they should be coming from above.

Sol Parker

Correction: This is incorrect as in many episodes the rings of the ring transporter come up from the ground. It only depends on whether there is a ceiling or not. As out in the open on planets the rings come up from the ground, whereas if they are in a building or in a ship, they may come down from the ceiling. But it does not depend on whether they are transporting "up" to a ship or "down" to a planet.
