When Nyah is trying to convince Ethan to shoot her, she says "Do it. Now!" There is still about forty minutes left in the movie, but those are the last words she says.

In the movie trailer Tom Cruise greets Ving Rhames when he lands in a helicopter on a remote property in Australia. He says "Welcome to Australia, mate" with an attempted Aussie accent on the word "mate". But that line was never shown in the movie. Not sure why. Perhaps the producers thought that it may come across as Tom mocking Australians?

While talking to Ethan, Anthony Hopkins asks him if he would like a cappuciuno. In the previous film, Ethan asks Jim Phelps if they can get a cappucino machine.

In the Mission Impossible films, there is always a major character uncredited. In the first film, Emilio Estevez was uncredited as Jack Harmon and in this film, Anthony Hopkins is uncredited as Ethan's boss.

The delays on the MI:2 shoot cost two of the actors high profile roles: Thandie Newton was replaced by Lucy Liu in Charlie's Angels, and Dougray Scott was replaced by Hugh Jackman in X-Men.

The cover for the movie is wrong: Tom Cruise wasn't wearing his jacket at the end of the movie when he got the knife cut on his face, on the cover he is shown wearing it.

In the part where Tom Cruise and the girl are arguing, Cruise says 'Then feel better.' Then there is a 3-5 second silence. If you turn the volume up, you can hear sound effects from Roller Coaster Tycoon, a computer game - what sounds like kids playing and screaming on a roller coaster.
