Perhaps the producers thought that it may come across as Tom mocking Australians?

In the part where Tom Cruise and the girl are arguing, Cruise says 'Then feel better.' Then there is a 3-5 second silence. If you turn the volume up, you can hear sound effects from Roller Coaster Tycoon, a computer game - what sounds like kids playing and screaming on a roller coaster.
