Audio problem: When Toxie is chasing Julie, Julie runs into a room, locks the door and puts a plank of wood to secure the door. As she does, she cries and whimpers, yet her mouth doesn't move.
Audio problem: When Toxie's fighting the nunchuck-wielding thug in the restaurant, he kicks them away once and they make noise when he does. When he does it again there's no sound at all. (00:36:00)
Continuity mistake: When Melvin is putting the cream and ice cream on one of the robber's face, the bowls and bottles, and the (ice) cream on the robbers face all keep changing position.
Officer O'Clancy: No way, you're wasting your time.
Cigar Face: That's where you're wrong. YOU'RE wasting our time. And now we're gonna waste you.
Trivia: In this film the title character is never referred to as "The Toxic Avenger"; he is only referred to as "Monster Hero." In his first book, "All I Needed To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger," the director Lloyd Kaufman revealed that the reason for this was because the working title of the movie was "The Monster Hero," and that the change to the title "The Toxic Avenger" only occurred at the "last minute." The character was consistently referred to as Toxic Avenger, or Toxie, throughout this movie's three sequels: "The Toxic Avenger II," "The Toxic Avenger III: The Last Temptation of Toxie," and "The Toxic Avenger IV: Citizen Toxie."
