When Cronauer and Garlick get stuck in traffic with the Army trucks, Garlick asks the assembled troops to guess who is in the Jeep with him. One of the troops shouts "Mork". Robin Williams played Mork in Mork & Mindy.

All of Adrian Cronauer's broadcasts were ad-libbed by Robin Williams.

This film is based on Pentagon lawyer Adrian Cronauer's life as a DJ during the Vietnam War. He is currently working at the Pentagon in its MIA/POW office.
