Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Corrected entry: The cell phone they take off the dead body in the bathroom in the club has a smashed screen. When Walker gives the phone to Sloane, the screen is fine. (00:33:50 - 00:48:50)

Correction: This was done deliberately to show that Walker had switched the phone for one containing evidence against Hunt.

Correction: It is entirely possible to utilise a US helicopter in other countries, as evidenced by the fact this movie was filmed in Europe, but features an American helicopter.

Corrected entry: When Ethan jumps out of the window and runs across the roof over the river Thames, the people on the opposite bridge and on the opposite river bank have stopped to watch the filming, only the traffic is moving.

Correction: Perhaps they have just stopped to see why a man is running across the roof of Blackfriars. It's a natural response for bystanders.

The roof is curved and no one would properly notice one man running across the roof, the helicopter filming would attract attention to what's happening, further more everyone has stopped to watch - maybe in the real world one or two may have seen him.

Or they could be looking at the low flying helicopter collecting Walker.

Corrected entry: Benji doesn't want to shoot the padlock off a container because he believes a nuclear bomb may be inside and he doesn't want to risk a ricochet setting it off. Someone with Benji's knowledge and background should know full well that nuclear fusion doesn't work that way. Moreover, he should also know that picking up a cylinder full of pure oxygen (which is highly, extremely flammable) and slamming hard it against the padlock is far, far more likely to cause a devastating explosion that would take out a significant portion of the medical centre, especially considering there are several other O2 cylinders just a few feet away.

Correction: Benji was likely more concerned with damaging the bomb itself, since any detected attempts to disarm the weapon would cause it to detonate. This is why they had to find both bombs and deactivate the trigger before they could disarm either. As for the cylinder, he likely found one that was depleted.

It's shown in real time - he never checks the cylinder's contents.

He was in a store room of things being packed up to close the camp with the gas cylinder left lying around. Full and depleted gas cylinders wouldn't be stored together. Full ones would be stored in a cage to prevent them being knocked over and leaking their contents, empty ones are more likely to be stored out of a cage.

All gas cylinders are supposed to be stored in cages. Even 'empty' ones can still have a little gas left in them to won't read on the contents gauge (it simply would be equalised with ambient pressure and not escape the bottle). A tiny amount of O2 in an 'empty' cylinder would still cause a pretty big bang.

Corrected entry: Walker takes off in his helicopter to escape the nuclear explosion. He thinks that a 15 minute helicopter ride is enough to get out of a nuclear blast zone. He may have planned the execution of the explosion well but fell short with his escape plan.

Correction: Nuclear weapons do not necessarily have a large blast radius. For example, the Fat Man weapon had an effect on an area less than 5km in radius. The largest nuclear weapon in the US arsenal now would affect an area around 21km in radius. It is more than feasible to assume Walker could get far enough away from the bombs in 15 minutes. He planned the time to detonation based on the bombs he had planted.

Corrected entry: A scene takes place in the mens' bathroom at a crowded party in Paris, with thousands of revellers in attendance. During this 5 - 10 minute sequence, the bathroom is occupied only by the IMF agents, their target and about 5 or 6 other people at various points (Which doesn't include the prolonged fight sequence where it's just the main characters). It is unrealistic in the extreme that this large bathroom would be so empty for such a long period of time in such a busy venue.

Correction: Unlikely, yes, but not impossible. We even see another group of people come in. We also don't know if there are any other toilets available at the venue, or if they put up an "out of order" or "cleaning in progress" sign at the door to try and dissuade others from entering the room after them.

Correction: In terms of the running time, the timer goes over 15 minutes, but that is not the same for within the context of the movie. There are three different stories going on within the finale: Ethan chasing Walker in the helicopter to retrieve the detonator, Benji and Ilsa trying to find the bomb and fighting off Lane and Luther and Julia trying to deactivate the other bomb. All of these events are occurring at more or less the exact same moment as each other, but are edited together so the viewer gets to see each storyline going on, so the amount of time that passes in the movie appears as if it is longer than it actually is, when in the context of the movie, is actually is closer to the 15 minutes on the timer.

Casual Person

Corrected entry: The helicopters seen in the HOA campground have US registrations. The place is supposed to be India. (01:49:45)

Correction: Helicopters can be transported to different countries, as made evident by the fact the scenes were filmed in Norway with US registered helicopters.

I agree with you. But considering the helicopter was supposed to be owned by a foreign oligarch, they should have made it look like it was of the appropriate foreign registry. Other programs do this.

Corrected entry: Several times during the movie they mention microwave transmitters. They use microwave bugs on people and they use microwave to synchronize the two bombs. While this is feasible, microwaves need direct visibility between transmitter and receiver, not really usable for tracking people inside buildings. Also the two bombs don't have a direct line of sight and the microwave sync would not work.

Milan Korenica

Correction: Microwave is defined as 1ghz to 1000ghz. These ranges are routinely used for communications that penetrate buildings and other structures with windows, etc, as evidenced by their use in wireless phones, wifi, cell phones, etc.

Continuity mistake: During the getaway in the 4-door olive-green BMW, in one shot, the driver's headrest is bent forward; in the next shot, it is shown back in the straight-up position.
