This movie is just a complete mess. The premise is rather idiotic, in which a government agent assembles a response team to handle potential Superman-level threats. The problem being the team she assembles would have zero chance at stopping Superman or any threat similar to his power level. That is unless you consider a girl with a baseball bat, a guy that is good at climbing buildings, a guy who can skillfully throw boomerangs, and a man with extremely scaly skin as people that can give Superman a run for his money.

The film's dialogue is rather clunky, with the introduction of the character Katana being a pretty egregious example.

The actions scenes are rather unremarkable, and Jared Leto's Joker is pretty much useless and wasted.

Suicide Squad is essentially a spin on classic film The Dirty Dozen with DC villains like Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, and Deadshot being forced to work together to defeat a dangerous supernatural threat for a shadowy government agency or die. Despite such high stakes, the "expendable" villains strain at their leashes and test the patience of their keepers, namely Amanda Waller who's running the show, Colonel Rick Flag who acts as her enforcer and eyes on the ground, and a tormented female super-heroine named Katana, who serves to protect Flag and keep the mission intact. While there are some interesting concepts, the movie overall suffers from delegating the Joker to nearly a supporting role, barely developing any of the characters until a minor third act moment, a climax more appropriate for The Mummy or Ghostbusters than a DC film feature, and generally not utilizing the strengths of that cast of characters better. Margot Robbie pretty handily steals the show as Harley Quinn and, while the others had potential, they never really get a fair chance to reach their potentials onscreen. Want to watch villains grumble, threaten, be threatened and then face a glimpse of their backstories before a battle against a CGI-enhanced Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress?! This is the movie for you! It just should have been better, and more fun.

8.5/10.It's a bit of a mess sure but I've seen worse. Ghostbusters 2016 anyone? Here they're trying to be faithful to the source material with a well rounded cast who match each other pretty good.I would say the best two here are Margot Robbie and Will Smith in one of the few good movies he's had outside of Men In Black and Independence Day.The real star is Margot Robbie who brings Harley Quinn to life perfectly. If anything positive should be said here it's that Margot Robbie proves herself as a very good and capable actress with the right material.Sure it's not on The Avengers level but I still prefer Suicide Squad to The Avengers.

Deliberate mistake: In the opening scenes just after the restaurant dialogue, as soon as the scene changes there is a quick cutscene which shows the screen zooming in on the Pentagon. If you look In the lower left corner, the text on screen gives the Pentagon location as being in Washington D.C. however, The Pentagon is located in Arlington, Virginia. (00:19:02)

Harley Quinn: Huh? What was that? I should kill everyone and escape? Sorry. The voices. Ahaha, I'm kidding! Jeez! That's not what they really said.

Question: How come The Joker's not affected when he jumps into the vat with Quinn?

Rob245

Answer: Because he's already been into the liquid, it's how he became the Joker. He wanted Harley to be just like him.
