Scream 2

Continuity mistake: During Maureen's death scene, at one point the killer has an arm around her waist and as they make their way through the crowd of the most unruly moviegoers in history there's a girl in a blue dress that runs past them. Behind her there's a blonde lady that is drinking from a Pepsi paper cup and stands to cheer. In the next shot she's still cheering but from her seat, her cup switching hands too. Subsequent shots from the initial angle feature her again bopping on her feet. (00:10:45)

Sammo

Other mistake: Much like in the original Scream, an absurd amount of time goes on since the time when Dewey is left for dead (they broke into the school at half past nine according to the clock) and when first aid is administered (the morning after).

Continuity mistake: When Sidney and Mrs. Loomis fight with the knife, the weapon is bloodstained in different ways depending on the camera angle. (01:46:20)

Sammo

Revealing mistake: When Mrs. Loomis dislodges the knife from the stone and lunges towards Sidney, the person falling back is not Neve Campbell, who comes back for the close-up shots. (01:46:15)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: During the struggle between Debbie and Sidney, in the phase that involves the fake stone block Sidney's hands have a different position on the block between shots, and so does the knife, stuck in it in different spots. (01:46:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Mickey shoots Derek, his bandage touches the ropes, but both before the gun fires and when Sidney cries out and steps closer, there are a few inches of distance between bandage and rope. (01:37:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: In the sound room murder, Gale stares at Ghostface from the other side of two different bloodstains on the glass. (01:22:30)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Gale watches Dewey agonize behind the glass, her hand is in different positions and spots between shots. (01:22:15)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: The amount of blood on Dewey's forehead at the very beginning of the scene of his 'death' changes between shots. (01:21:55)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Courteney Cox's right hand is alternatively on the horizontal shelf or the vertical bar of the archive when Dewey tries to warn her from the other side of the glass. (01:21:45)

Sammo

Audio problem: The killer replays for Gale and Dewey Randy's death. The words he uses are the same, but the pacing of his last line is off, and so is the part before; in the original scene Ghostface finished the "You'll never get the girl" line just as Randy touched the phoning bystander, but in this footage the line ends earlier than that moment. (01:18:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Outside the police station, Dewey stops because Gale is being sympathetic with her 'feel bad' speech. His hand is on the corner of the public phone in one shot, to the left in a different spot in the next shot. (01:14:35)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: At the police station, Cotton sarcastically says "Ok then, book me." Look at the door the chief of police is walking towards, which has his name on. In close-up there is a string touching the C of "Captain", that is missing in the wide angle. (01:10:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Cotton presses Sid against the library wall acting all creepy, Neve Campbell's hair is arranged differently on her forehead, sometimes with a stray wisp, sometimes not. (01:08:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Gale dispossesses a girl of her phone and starts arguing with the person on the other side. The girl has a friend to the left of the screen who just before Gale throws the phone back raises his hand. In the next shot his hand is on his knee. (01:03:45)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: The killer asks Randy what's his favourite scary movie; there's a POV of Randy that spots two girls sitting on the lawn. A tree behind them casts a big shadow in their direction, which changes orientation entirely in the shot when he touches the one with the phone. (01:03:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Gale, Dewey and Randy stand to go look for the killer who just phoned them. Throughout the earlier part of the scene the background behind David Arquette's close-ups showed the house and ground with a lot of sun filtering from the foliage, and the background behind Jamie Kennedy was much darker, but now you can see even the 'Arquette background' being dusky. (01:02:50)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Nobody moves after taking their masks off and looking at Sidney helpless on the floor. There's a close-up on two guys who take off their mask, one is a robust guy with short hair who removes a bearded old man mask. When Sidney flees, she passes by him, who is not standing close to the other guy anymore. (00:59:25)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Sid is talking to Gus, the drama teacher who is adamant that it's a good idea to put her in a scene with half a dozen masked people play-stabbing her. She says "I'm a fighter", and behind her there are a couple girls making their way through the seats and a guy carrying a drink from the other side. Gus swiftly replies "I didn't hear that", and the camera cuts back to Sid, showing the people who were in transit a split second before already perfectly seated. (00:55:35)

Sammo

Mickey: Oh come on Randy, with all due respect, the killer obvious patterned himself after two serial killers who were immortalized on film.
Guy 2: Thank you!
Film Teacher: So, you're saying that someone is trying to make a real life sequel?
Randy: Stab 2? Why would anyone want to do that? Sequels suck!

Trivia: If you watch right at the start you will see Sidney watching the TV in her dorm room when Cotton is talking on a show. Look at the interviewer he is talking to - it's the writer of Scream and Scream 2 Kevin Williamson.

More trivia for Scream 2

Question: In the movie "Stab" it shows what is supposed to be reenacting Drew Barrymore's death and looks as if it is just like the one in the first film. But how could it be almost perfect if no one was there to see it?

Movieman123

Chosen answer: In real life, they'd have known there was a phone call involved. They would have known her boyfriend was killed. They could have easily pieced together that the killers played a cat and mouse game with the Drew Barrymore character. But that doesn't account for all the details. Anything else would be speculation. My speculation: Maybe Billy Loomis kept a diary.

And rumor has it that Stu didn't die that he may still be alive.
