It's the door that leads outside and to a small room full of plants, a veranda of sorts. But when Laura looks at the door, she's looking at the inner door, which looks like it has just been painted, and, in the morning, the broken pane is covered up by a piece of wood, but, again, it's the inner door, which is totally wrong. It's the outer door's window pane that was broken.
