Revealing mistake: When Kate is in Ray's pickup, as they drive down the road, she looks into her side view mirror twice, over a minute apart. Firstly, the road that passes in the view reflected in the mirror is perfectly identical in both instances that Kate looks at it, which is impossible - the same shot is used twice. Secondly, the road that passes Ray's truck is completely different to the road that passes in the view reflected in the side mirror, they are obviously edited together. (00:21:55)

Revealing mistake: With Marshal Mars in pursuit, as Ray drives his pickup, he holds the steering wheel with his left hand, and his stiff prosthetic right arm is down at his side. When Kate grabs for the steering wheel, in the side exterior shot the stunt driver is quite noticeable, as he grips and turns the steering wheel with his good right hand/arm. (00:30:40)

Revealing mistake: When Kate is with Ray in his pickup, he wears his wedding band on his left hand, and his right arm is prosthetic. After the wreck, when Kate pulls him from the cab and onto the grass, he wears his ring on his right hand, the door and Kate's bracelet are also on the wrong side - obviously a flipped shot. Revealing mistake: After Jack brings some survivors back to the cave, there is a shot of Hurley turning on his CD player to listen to Willie Nelson. Revealing mistake: After Sayid stabs Sawyer, in the wideshot when Jack pushes Sayid away, as Sawyer lies with his right arm outstretched the knife is nowhere to be seen. In the next close-up, the large, long-handled knife is protruding from Sawyer's upper arm at about a 90ยบ angle. Given the angle and position of the knife, it should have been seen in the previous shot. (00:30:20)

Revealing mistake: At the bank, when Kate shoots her accomplice in the leg, the small square indentation on the pants, around the bullet hole, where the stunt device is located, is rather obvious. (00:33:20)
Revealing mistake: In Boone's flashback in the hotel, you can see the Sydney Opera House out the window which looks nice, except that in order to see the it from that perspective the hotel would need to be EXACTLY where the Harbour Bridge is, but there are no hotels in Sydney that could provide this angle of view. Revealing mistake: The face of "Ethan" that Jack tackles is seen briefly, but it is obviously a stuntman, not William Mapother. (00:32:45)

Revealing mistake: Jack's left arm is bandaged from Boone's blood transfusion. After the shot of Shannon, as she cries over Boone, Jack sits on the beach in the wideshot and the bandage is on his right arm, but in the following shots it's on his left. Yet another flipped shot. (00:41:35)

Revealing mistake: In the scene just after Sawyer is mounting the radar on the mast of the shop, Sayid hands Michael a flare gun. He opens it to show that there is just 1 shot left. If you look closely the flare gun shell has already been fired (notice the center fire pin is indented). (00:34:30)
Exodus (2) - S1-E24
Revealing mistake: When Shannon carries and drags the luggage (some of Boone's) she breaks down and Sayid speaks to her. When he says, "It won't be too much if I carry it for you," he strokes her cheek with his left hand - note the watch. After he says, "I have a hike to lead," in the next wideshot he's still holding her face with his "left" hand. But, note the lack of watch, and her large suitcase is now backwards. They flipped the shot so his right hand would appear to be his left, to keep hand continuity, but it doesn't work. (00:17:10)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
