Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.
Natalie reads a newspaper article about the Gates Falls Mills fire, which states that the mill used child labor in sixteen hour shifts "to meet the incessant demand for uniforms for the Union army." It goes on to lament the sadness of these events of "All Souls Day [November 1], 1869." But the Civil War ended in 1865, after which the terminology "Union army" would not have been used. [Yes, but in the finale, Mrs. Druse states that the war ended before the Mill burned and the shifts went from 16 to 12 hours. In the newspaper they were just giving a bit of background info.]
