That '70s Show

Drive-In - S1-E8

Corrected entry: When Eric and Donna are on the hood of the Vista Cruiser, their heads go through the non-existent windshield.

Correction: There are views where you can see reflections off the windshield and you can also see them "propped" up by the windshield. The windshield is definitely there. The shot never cuts away from them so the windshield remains there. The "non-existant windshield" is, as stated, an optical illusion.

Correction: Although "O Canada" was not adopted as the Canadian National Anthem until June 27, 1980, the words are in keeping with the history of the time. The Weir version had the line "Stand and guard, O Canada" until it was recommended by a Special Joint Committed in March 1967 that the line be changed to "From far and wide, O Canada." The change was adopted in 1967 and it took Canada several years to work out the copyright issues. However, the line was common to the song as of the mid 70s and would probably have been the only version known by teenagers from Wisconsin.

The Keg - S1-E6

Corrected entry: When everyone is in the pool and Kelso convinces Jackie that having a party is a bonus - Jackie is the one who raises her arm in support instead of Kelso. You can tell as the sleeve is orange and Kelso is wearing a yellow armed shirt.

Correction: Look closer. Jackie is actually holding on to Kelso with her feet off the ground and both hands around his neck. When Kelso raises his hand, he picks up Jackie's arm a bit and you see some of the orange red of Jackie's shirt. However, it is definitely Kelso that raises his arm in a clenched fist. Jackie's hands are around Kelso's neck.

Thanksgiving - S1-E9

Corrected entry: In the scene where Eric and Kate kiss, Eric enters the room saying he needs something to sleep in and grabs something. But when he's leaving (after they've kissed) he leaves without the clothes he's grabbed.

Correction: After the "kiss" he had just gone through, it would not be unnatural for him to forget what he came in for - since it was obviously a convenient excuse to go into his bedroom. Also, who's to say, he didn't turn right around and get the clothes once he remembered.

Class Picture - S4-E20

Corrected entry: The actors playing Eric, Hyde and Kelso at a younger age are all credited as playing them at the age of 7 and 13 but we found out earlier in "Halloween"(episode 30) that Kelso is actually a year older than them so the actors playing him at the age of 7 and 13 should have been credited as playing him at the age of 8 and 14.

Correction: At the ages of 7 and 13, everyone thought that he was their age, not a year older, so at that time he would have been saying that he is the same age.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Characters often use the terms "dude" and "awesome" in their informal contexts; neither of these terms was part of the mainstream American vernacular until the early/mid 1980s.

zendaddy621

Correction: The term "Dude" has been around for over a century, and the modern definition has been around since the 1960's. The word "Awesome" has also been around since the late 60's. So there is no error with anyone using the two terms.

MasterOfAll

No, Dude and Awesome weren't common slag until the 80s until films like Valley Girl and Fast Times at Ridgemont High became popular. It doesn't matter how hold the words are. Kids in Wisconsin didn't use them. They said groovy not awesome and Jack and man not dude.

Correction: Not sure if this is just a troll entry, but she does not sing "Baby got back." She says she likes showing her butt and then sings " (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty."

Sunday, Bloody Sunday - S1-E10

Corrected entry: When Kitty goes into the basement and asks for a cigarette - the sleeve of the person that hands her one is red denim, which does not match that of any of the characters there. Hyde is holding a lighter, but wearing blue denim.

Correction: The sleeve is blue just like the denim sleeve that Hyde is wearing.

Jackie Bags Hyde - S3-E8

Corrected entry: After the parade, Red shows up in his Navy uniform. He has several medals on the shirt (three, I believe). The only problem is that one of them is an Army Commendation Medal. Red was in the Navy. While different branches of services can recommend medals for other branches, had the Army recommended Red for a medal, the Navy would have given him a Navy Commendation Medal, not the Army equivalent. The Army medal has the several small stripes in the center (as the one Red is wearing does). The Navy medal has no pinstripes only the two wide ones.

Zwn Annwn

Correction: Red could have served jointly with an Army unit and earned an ARCOM.

Rlvlk

Correction: Even though it was aired as the 10th episode, the official "That 70's Show" site list this as episode 5. It was broadcast out of order, not a mistake in the show.

Eric's Buddy - S1-E11

Corrected entry: Before Kitty helps Red with selling appliances, Red blends some ice, but when he pours the ice into a glass they come out as ice cubes, not blended at all.

The Synj

Correction: In the episode 'Eric's Buddy' it is revealed by Kitty and the audience, (as they laugh at Red) that he did not blend the ice very well and the cubes at the top did did not blend in the first place.

Young Man Blues - S6-E9

Corrected entry: Eric mentions "Boba Fett's jetpack doesn't glue itself back on." Boba Fett wasn't introduced until "Empire Strikes Back" in 1980. This episode takes place prior to that.

Correction: Boba Fett actually made his debut in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special and the Kenner action figure of him was released in 1979.

Holy Crap! - S2-E23

Corrected entry: During the game of cards when Kitty brings the youth minister to the house, Laurie, assuming to get the minister's attention, plays three "6" cards spelling out the number of the beast, "666". Although the suits are hard to discern, all three of the cards she played are black which would be impossible in a regular deck of cards.

Correction: First two cards are definitely red and the last is black. But, regardless, I believe they're playing rummy, which often uses multiple decks (though only one is visible on the table). Either way, it looks like heart (red), diamond (red), club (black).

Class Picture - S4-E20

Corrected entry: In the episode, it flashes back to 1968 so Eric would be about 8 or 9 because you know that in 1976 he turned 16, so he would be born in 1959. However it says in the closing credits 'Eric aged 7'. How can he be 7?

Correction: Born somewhere in 1960, he would turn 16 in 1976. Prior to his birthday in 1968, he'd be 7.

Drive-In - S1-E8

Corrected entry: Guys are sitting in basement, Fez is sent home by Red. While Kelso speaks, you can hear that Fez opens and closes doors. But in the next shot - Fez is standing in front of open door.

Correction: That sound is actually Red opening and shutting the door they use to get in and out of the basement, not Fez.

Grandma's Dead - S1-E23

Corrected entry: In the scene where Eric is driving Grandma home, he tells her it wouldn't kill her to be nice and she dies. Eric realizes this and slams on the brakes. You can see Grandma's eyes open then close before she hits the dashboard.

Correction: Since we see no physical injuries nor signs of pain we must assume Grandma had a fatal heart attack or stroke, neither of which would have killed her instantly - though Eric would think she had died on the spot. Obviously she dies shortly after hitting the dashboard.

Class Picture - S4-E20

Corrected entry: In episode 1 "Pilot" Donna says "you could have had me when I was four". But in this episode they first met when they were seven.

Correction: It was a figure of speech. Even if she was trying to get the age exactly right, this is a character mistake if anything.

Grandma's Dead - S1-E23

Corrected entry: In the scene where Kitty is making all the food because she is sad, she reaches into the oven and pulls out a tray of food. She doesn't even put on an oven mitt and she doesn't burn herself.

Correction: Many people place already prepared food in low temperature or turned off oven to keep the food warm. The oven is not at a temperature that would cause burns, so an oven mit is not necessary. Since Kitty was preparing a large amount of food, it makes sense that she would do this.

Cat Fight Club - S2-E25

Corrected entry: When Red is in the future and his jet pack lifts him up you can see two white lines [looks like they were put in digitally to cover the black lines] pulling him up.

Correction: They purposely add this to make it look funny and cheesey.

Correction: Fez was talking to his British principal (in "That '70s Musical") thus meaning the American revolution. In "A New Hope" he means his native country.

Punk Chick - S1-E22

Other mistake: Jackie and Kitty are baking a pie in the kitchen and Kelso walks in. Jackie and Kelso have an awkward encounter as if they are separated, but they got back together at prom.

Time Is on My Side - S7-E1

Red Foreman: Steven, when are you moving out?
Hyde: Soon.
Red Foreman: How's your girlfriend?
Hyde: Shallow as hell.
Red Foreman: Job?
Hyde: Dead-end.
Red Foreman: Future?
Hyde: Bleak.
Red Foreman: Kitty, feed the boy.
[Kitty takes Eric's plate and gives it to Hyde].

Chosen answer: He isn't. Time moves slowly in the show because they didn't want it to turn into "That '80's Show". In the first episode, he say's he's 17 but the second episode was his 17th birthday so he must have been 16. The first 12 episodes are set in 1976, the next 2 seasons are set in 1977, the next 3 seasons are set in 1978, and the remaining shows take place in 1979 with the final show on Dec 31, 1979 when Eric must be 20 as he turned 17 in 1976.
