Continuity mistake: During the presenter's introductions at the start of the ball, there's a shot of Lorelai from behind while she's seated alone at the table and we see the glistening necklace around her neck, but in the following shot facing Lorelai as she turns her head toward her parents the necklace has vanished, then she gets up and as Lorelai walks toward Emily and Richard the necklace has reappeared. Continuity mistake: Lorelei's casual date brings his parents into Luke's and even though the windows are covered and you can't see outside, the cash register is at the wrong end of the counter.

Continuity mistake: When Dean and Clara first arrive at the Inn and are shown talking to Rory, Luke and Jess arrive in the background and Luke removes his jacket. In the next shot his jacket is back on and he removes it again.

Continuity mistake: When Lorelai sits down with Dean to discuss how "clingy" he is with Rory, both Lorelai and Dean's hand positions change between shots, specifically whether their fingers are laced, resting normally on the table or raised in the air.
Continuity mistake: When Rory and Jess go for the ice cream run the rear-view mirror is missing, but when Rory tells Jess to turn right the rear-view mirror is attached to the windshield in the exterior shot. (00:25:30)
Continuity mistake: When Chris offered to make coffee, and he goes to the water stand, you can see there is already water in the coffee pot.
