11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: There's dialogue between Palmer and Novick in a hotel room with blinds pulled shut over the windows which leads up to Palmer asking, "Tell me again what I've been doing, Mike?" To which Novick responds, "Telling the truth." At this point the camera pans from Novick to Palmer before going into a cut-shot closeup of Palmer. Now look carefully at the background. The curtains are lit up from behind by sunlight. Keep watching. As the closeup shot pans slightly, you can see a sunny day and a building outside of an open window. This scene is supposed to take place less than an hour before midnight and with Senator Palmer hidden away from sight in order to maintain the ruse of his "death" in the explosion. (00:09:00)

11:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: Mike Novick and Senator Palmer are outside the car at Dr Ferragamo's office building when his office explodes. As they get back in the car, you can see over the shoulder of whichever gets into the rear, passenger-side. There is no one in the driver's seat, but when Palmer says, "Let's go," the car moves off immediately. (00:30:25)

Suggested correction: The car is secret service. Detailed to protect Palmer. As soon as Palmer gets in the car, the SS agent gets in the car too.

7:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. - S1-E20

Continuity mistake: When Jack is at the powerstation he checks his watch. It is 19:12:26, and it takes 1 min 57 seconds until we see the timer (yellow clock), which shows 19:13:47 and not 19:14:23 which it should be as the show is in real time. This is only a mistake if we consider agent Jack Bauer's watch as being accurate, but given how time-critical a lot of his work is, you wouldn't expect him to be casual about the time. (00:12:10)

4:00 A.M.-5:00 A.M. - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: The clock just tells the viewer that it is 4:40am. Sen. Palmer interrogates his son about the rape of his daughter. In the room, there is a clock that shows 4:57am instead. (00:27:43)

Suggested correction: This is an alarm clock. Some people simply have a clock set a few minutes fast, so that they get an extra few minutes. Not really a mistake.

Continuity mistake: At the start David is giving a speech about winning the primary. There is one point during a split screen where he grabs his microphone. However in the immediate next shot his hands are on the podium. (00:04:10)

5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. - S1-E18

Continuity mistake: We see a black car driving down the street after the end of the scene between the two Palmers. In this shot you can see the passenger in the back of the car (Andre) is not on the phone. Camera changes to inside and Andre is on the phone. (00:15:50)

Jack Bauer: Do you understand the difference between dying for something and dying for nothing? The only reason I fought so hard to stay alive in China was because I didn't want to die for nothing. Today, I can die for something.

Season 1 generally

Question: Was Nina recruited as a spy before she joined CTU or after? Also, as she wasn't working just for the Drazens, what was her primary mission?

Answer: According to Jack in season 5, Nina was "deep cover" before the pair ever met, so it's safe to assume she was recruited before she joined CTU. As for what her primary mission was, who knows? Perhaps it was to gather sensitive intel and pass it on to her superiors. Given that she worked for an intelligence agency, it's not a stretch. Or perhaps we may find out in season seven.
