The Tourist (2010)

Factual error: When Elise drops Frank off at Venice airport, we see the colorful houses of Venice proper quite close in the background. But Venice airport is on the mainland side of the lagoon, quite far from the Venice islands. So the houses would have been much, much further away.

The Tourist (2010)

Factual error: While dragging Frank after the boat on a rope, Elise is seen pushing the gas handle to full power. The boat speeds up, but not a lot. Later on, we see the boat going much faster. But boats do not have gears, so couldn't suddenly get an extra burst of speed.

The Tourist (2010)

Factual error: In the boat chase on the Canal, Frank turns the wheel on his boat, and the boat turns sharply. But the boat is being dragged and the engine is not running. Turning the wheel will then make very little (or no) difference in its direction. Motorboats turn by the propeller turning, not with a rudder like a sailing boat.

The Tourist (2010)

Factual error: When Frank and Elise arrive in Venice, they sail from the train station to a hotel which is also located on the Grand Canal (from the balcony we see the Rialto Bridge). However just after leaving the station, we see Saint Marc's Square from their boat from the other side of the lagoon. That is very far from the station - and not on the way to that hotel.

Under Siege (1992)

Factual error: The video feed form the cruise missile heading for Hawaii shows constant direction changes. If it was fired from way out at sea, it would just fly the direct route to its target, and it wouldn't have to change course a number of times.

Under Siege (1992)

Factual error: In the scene where Ryback is swimming next to the submarine, it is clear that the water is brown and murky. If the ship is in the middle of the Pacific, the water would be crystal clear.

Suggested correction: While Mobile Bay is the likely location, the Pacific Ocean is certainly not crystal clear all over.

Red 2 (2013)

Factual error: When Han is shooting at the gang with the Gatling gun, and we see the holes, they are all completely circular, even though the projectiles should have hit the surface at an angle. The holes in the cars etc. to the far right should have been oblong.

Titanic (1997)

Factual error: In the famous "I'm flying" Scene, the sunset is to the couple's left. But at that time (April 14) the ship was definitely steaming due West, and the sunset should therefore have been directly in front (or even a bit front-right). (01:17:00)

Factual error: In the scene where Zukovsky is almost drowning in caviar he lies very deep - only the top of his face above the surface. The depth of a body in a liquid depends on the proportions between the density of the body and the liquid. For example in the Dead Sea, with its high salt content, the water has a high density, so a body floats higher than in fresh water. Caviar must have a quite high density too - probably as high as the water in the Dead Sea, since it tastes quite salt too. So if a person was floating in caviar, he would not go as deep down as Zukovsky does in that scene. That looks more like how deep he would go in fresh water.

Factual error: After the explosion in the pipeline Christmas says: "the world's greatest terrorist running around with 6 kilos of plutonium." That tells us that each half of the plutonium ball weighs 6 kg. Seconds earlier she asks "Why leave this half" and pulls out the other half of the plutonium from her bag. She lifts it with the tip of her fingers as if the container weighs no more than a pound. You can definitely not lift 6 kg with such a casual hand movement, and no significant weight change is visible in the bag.

Factual error: When the pipeline explodes it is clear during the explosion that it is mostly fire coming from the pipeline. There is no spray of earth or other debris. But afterwards Bond and Christmas are walking through a huge crater. Where (and when) did the earth get displaced, if it was not thrown up in the actual explosion?

Jacob La Cour

Factual error: When the oil pipeline blows up we see 5 distinct explosions (coming from 3 different places) but there was only 1 bomb. Furthermore there is way to much fire for it to be a high-explosive detonation.

Factual error: It is not plausible that the tail rotor blade of the helicopter can destroy large parts of a building without being damaged. (01:24:40)

Factual error: The nuclear power plant at Chernobyl is located 4 km from the town of Pripyat, which is located in a forested area, and the plant is not visible from the town - in this movie it's clearly in visual range.

Factual error: When the train arrives in Belgrade the clock on the station shows 6.32. It is dark! That is not only 32 minures since the location where Bond was suppoesd to get off the train, where it was bright daylight. Furthermore it is shown that the train passes through Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. That will take more than 32 minutes. However it must be evening and not morning, because it continues to be dark in the next clips where the train drives to Zagreb.

Jacob La Cour

Factual error: When the train passes the road crossing where it should have stopped - at 6pm - it is very bright daylight, and the sun is high in the sky (which can be seen from the shadows, among others those cast by the car on the road). The sun is never so high at 6pm in western Turkey/eastern Greece. That scene has been shot earlier in the day.

Broken Arrow (1996)

Factual error: The train is supposed to be heading East. But in several shots, the sun is on the left side of the train (and still high in the sky). The left side of the train would be Northwest (or North) and the sun would not be there.

Broken Arrow (1996)

Factual error: The helicopter explodes while still in the air when hit by the EMP. It might cause it to shut down (and crash) but not explode in the air.

Factual error: When the elevator falls to the ground, it is in free fall. The cop lying on top of it should lift away from it as it falls, but doesn't.

The Sentinel (2006)

Factual error: The Presidential helicopter(s) is only called Marine One, when the President is on board. Like Airforce One - there are several aircraft of the same type, but the code name is only applied to the one carrying the President.
