Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Gregorio and Ingrid drive the kids to school, Juni's tie is first under his seat belt, then it is over the seat belt, and once again under the seat belt. Plus, the seatbelt near Juni's collar differs between his reflection on Floop's screen and the real Juni.

Continuity mistake: In the kids' room, when Ingrid approaches Juni to remind him about the wart medicine, Juni's red and yellow cars are on the blue dresser behind Ingrid. Then when Ingrid finishes telling the spy story, as she says, "Trading espionage for parenthood," the cars' positions differ, and when Juni says, "It needs monsters," they change position again. Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: In the opening shot of the film, as Carmen sits by the window, Ingrid walks past the table in the hallway when she enters the bedroom and on the table are flowers and a doll. Behind Carmen, a red cloth is draped over the tall dresser. In the following shots a lamp (lit) makes its appearence on the hallway table, the doll's position changes and the red cloth on the dresser not only changes position, but in many shots one side is actually gone. Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Ingrid is in the bedroom at the vanity table, the tray of makeup with the lipstick at the back is reflected in the large center oval mirror directly behind it. However, in the next close-up as she types on the makeup, the mirror's back wood support and the bedroom wall are behind the makeup, not the mirror. It is only in the next shot, as Ingrid finishes typing, that the mirror actually turns horizontally to expose the wood support and wall. (00:07:35)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: After their parents ascend into the ceiling, Carmen and Juni confront their doppelgangers, who run up the wall, flip over and land in the center of the 'water' outline on the floor. After Carmen exclaims, "Oh shi...take mushrooms!" when they all walk towards the 'water' outline to come face to face in the wide shot, the robots must walk towards the center though they were already there. Continuity mistake: While Juni and Carmen are in the Super Guppy, the top of boat, above the controls, actually differs within the sequence of shots on the water. Their heights differ as well. (00:23:00)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: After Ingrid and Carmen disappear through the ceiling, when robots Carmen and Juni appear, in the corridor towards the stairs there is a tall silver pedestal. When Carmen and Juni actually battle the two robots, as Carmen pulls robo-Juni's hands behind his back, there are multi-colored lights all over that pedestal. (01:13:00 - 01:15:45)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: As Carmen and Juni are chased by the Thumb Thumbs in speedboats, Carmen shouts, "You weirdo! You switched it to manual!" As the Guppy and speedboats round the man in the small boat, there is a vast difference between the consecutive close-up, wide and aerial shots. (00:23:20)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: When the kids in the Guppy zoom towards the boat, in the first shot facing the man in the boat, the large distinct building is clearly visible on shore in the background. Yet, in the following shot facing the front of the Guppy as they actually fly over, that building on shore is now behind the Guppy! Then in the next shot, at the same angle as the first, the shoreline is completely different. (00:23:30)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Carmen yells, "You're strong Juni!" after the extreme close-up of Juni's fist, in the next shot a specific piece of loose painted plaster falls from the top left corner of the hole, as his fist hits. However, in the next two shots of Juni, that piece of loose plaster is actually back up on the wall!! (01:15:15)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: When Lisp is introduced to and then flipped by the robot of the president's daughter, Minion stands directly between the doors and the straw figure. However, in the next close-up he stands between the straw figure and the huge pineapple. (00:15:05)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: As Gregorio grabs Minion to toss him onto the metal chair in the robotics lab, in the wide shot, the top segment of the chair above the curve is much shorter than in the following shots. During the first sequence of shots the entire metal chair is about 6 inches thick and there is a matching chair directly behind it. However, when Minion says, "Fools!" the chair behind his shoulders is barely an inch thick now! Then in the last shot looking up at his Fooglie head, the chair is thick once again, but there is no chair directly behind it. (01:10:45)

Spy Kids (2001)

Continuity mistake: On the loudspeaker as Minion says, "All robots report to the grand room for a final demonstrationÂ…", the robots walk all the way down the long corridor in three shots. This is the same corridor that is directly outside the grand room in the following shots, even the paint markings on the walls are identical! When Carmen and Juni run into the grand room, obviously the long corridor behind them is clear, until moments later when the robots appear at the far end. (01:16:10)

Continuity mistake: When Carmen and Juni confront their doppelgangers, after their parents ascend into the circular opening, at the end of the corridor there are many things, including two tall yellow lamps, near the window, as well as two large globes sitting directly on the floor, against the side wall nearby. However, after robo-Carmen throws Juni across the floor (btw, he disappears in the second shot), when he runs back up the corridor everything (no kidding) at the end of that hall changes and now the large globes sit on stands! Continuity mistake: The characteristics and features of Floop's castle differ hugely in the exterior shots of the castle and the interior shots. One crucial example is all the windows in the grand room which are visible in interior shots, yet not in the exterior shots. (00:13:25 - 01:09:05)

Continuity mistake: Robots Juni and Carmen appear, after Gregorio and Ingrid ascend into the opening above, and as they run up the wall and flip over a huge green work of art hangs on the corner wall at the left side of the screen. However, when robo-Carmen taunts Juni a smaller pink frilled work of art hangs on that very same corner wall. (01:13:20 - 01:14:40)

Continuity mistake: When the large doors to the grand room open, robot Johnny runs up the corridor towards Lisp and the door to the virtual room as well as its two signs, are at the end of the corridor. Yet when Gregorio and Carmen 'drop in' on Floop's table, the wall with a window is at the end of the corridor. Then when Minion receives the Third Brain from the robots the virtual room doors are visible, however in the following shots the wall with the window is back once again. (00:14:30 - 00:52:30)

Continuity mistake: As Gregorio, Ingrid, Carmen and Juni take a stance together awaiting the robots, there is a close-up of Minion and there is no one at his right side. However in the previous and following shots the other men stand right beside Minion. (01:16:50)

Continuity mistake: After Ingrid says, "Carmen, Juni, close your eyes. We don't want you to see this, OK?" and she and Gregorio take down the baddies, the robot kids come into view. In their first close-up they walk well past particular works of art on both sides, yet, after a shot of Ms. Gradenko, in their next close-up they are much further back in the corridor and are just nearing those objects. Continuity mistake: Carmen sends the anchor up into the circular puzzle opening above and in the next close-up the anchor attaches itself to the puzzle structure. She then attaches the base of the anchor device on robo-Juni's back and when he goes flying up, the actual puzzle shapes are completely different from the previous close-up. The way the anchor is anchored differs as well. (01:13:45)
