THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Question: How come it was Harry who was picked over Katie to be Gryffindor Quidditch captain after Angelina even though Katie had been on the team longer? This was similar to how Angelina was picked in the last book after Wood was gone.

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: The team captain would be chosen based on who has the best playing skills and leadership abilities. Just because someone is on the team longer does not mean they'd make the best captain. Harry was a better all-around choice. Katie may also not have wanted to be the captain.

Question: Why does Hermione seem annoyed when she finds out that Harry told Slughorn she is the best in the year? Or am I wrong?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: She isn't annoyed. She's slightly embarrassed at the attention.

Greg Dwyer

Chosen answer: They knew Peeta would trust Prim. She was always honest and did not have any ulterior motives other than wanting to help Peeta recover. Prim was someone who helped others without expecting anything in return.

X-Men (2000)

Chosen answer: The main goal of the X-Men is to show the world that not all mutants are necessarily evil or to be feared. Showing kindness and giving hospitality to one of their biggest detractors helps their cause, and Senator Kelly admits to having a change of heart just before he dies.

Agent Cody Banks (2003)

Question: Why did they take Cody off the mission just because he was defending himself from some bullies? Also, why did Cody lie to Natalie by saying he was taken off the mission because he became too close to her?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: The fight with the bullies made the school paper and drew unwanted attention to Cody which could compromise his mission. Cody lied to Natalie to try and impress her.

BaconIsMyBFF

Chosen answer: She found out in the scene where they are talking on the balcony when Peter is visiting her at her apartment. Peter shoots a web at her to pull her back towards him as she walks away and realises that he is Spider-Man.

Casual Person

Question: When Uncle Ben said that Peter's father believed if you could do good things for other people you would have a moral obligation to do those things, what did that mean? I know that it's a reference to "with great power comes great responsibility" but what did the words themselves mean?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: It means exactly what it sounds like: that if you can do good things, you should do them. And you should feel obligated to do them because it's for the greater good. It's not exactly the same message as "with great power comes great responsibility", but it's in the same sort-of ethical ballpark.

Question: When Peter saves the city from changing into Lizards, Connors saved him, but was he trying to save Peter or finish him off for himself given how aggressive he sounded?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: He was trying to save Peter. He's realised his plans are finished, and he's also been "cured", so he's starting to realise how big of a mistake he's made, and he feels bad about it. Hence, he saves Peter.

Family Guy (1999)

Chosen answer: The whole point was James was in possession of Peter's identity and it didn't matter how he has it. Joe also ignored the fact he's personally known Peter since moving in next door, so the picture didn't really matter. To Joe, James is Peter now, no matter what.

Bishop73

Chosen answer: Wolverine was in the middle of laying waste to Stryker's facility, releasing his mutant prisoners and battling Deadpool/Weapon XI. Wolverine is a big liability to Stryker at this point and he wants to eliminate him.

Phaneron

Question: There is a deleted scene where Stryker erases Logan's memory so he would not remember Kayla betraying him, but did Logan not think that Stryker might make him work for him again? I know Logan doesn't want that.

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: Logan doesn't care about whether or not he works for Stryker anymore. He just wants to get Victor. He's driven completely by revenge, which as it turns out is exactly what Stryker thought would happen.

Question: Why does the Emperor seem to want Luke to kill him so badly? I get he is trying to turn Luke to the dark side but he can't exactly own Luke if he's dead.

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: He's trying to rile Luke up. The Emperor knows Vader will intervene. The Emperor sees the situation as a win-win for him with either Luke being killed by Vader or Luke kills Vader and turns to the Dark Side.

Phaneron

Answer: As Anakin says in ROTS, killing someone is not the "jedi way". By killing the emperor, he is surrendering to his feelings, which is one of the paths to the dark side.

Chosen answer: She's having a Leonard moment and not fully grasping the situation. She doesn't see her ex boyfriend and his new girlfriend having a romantic dinner, but two of her friends having a meal. Whether it was conscious or unconsciously is anyone's guess.

Chosen answer: Amy said she needed to take some time away from the relationship because she feared that their relationship wasn't going anywhere. They had already been dating for five years and they haven't actually gotten intimate after all this time, and when Sheldon asks if he should start watching The Flash, she was worried that he wasn't giving her as much attention towards her as she would have thought given the years that they had been dating.

Tooth Fairy (2010)

Answer: It was all Black Market merchandise. Usually not of any good use; total rip-off.

Chosen answer: They were talking about the apartment Steve Rogers lives in. Pierce is saying Nick Fury bugged Cap's apartment, one of his own agents.

Bishop73

Question: After the council decides to not train Anakin and Qui-Gon decided to train Anakin himself why does Obi-Wan look like he was betrayed?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: Obi-Wan didn't feel betrayed, he was dismayed at Qui Gon once again openly defying the word of the council. The two disagree on Anakin and Kenobi feels that were Qui Gon to simply follow the rules, he would have been on the council by now.

BaconIsMyBFF

Chosen answer: Obi-Wan implies Qui Gon's idealism and rebellious nature keep him from being offered a seat on the council. Kenobi specifically brings this up when Qui Gon states that he will defy the council and train Anakin himself. Apparently not following orders is somewhat common for Qui Gon.

Question: How exactly is the level of Jedi knight different to padawan learner apart from having a padawan of their own?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: A padawan is an apprentice Jedi. They are still learning and haven't mastered the skills needed to go out on their own. Once a padawan has passed the trials, a series of tests designed to test the Jedi against what they will face in the universe, they can receive a promotion to knight. Knights are able to be sent out on missions alone. Padawans are not.
