Question: Does anyone know which scenes Nick Castle is playing Michael Myers? I know he is Myers when Laurie tries to shoot him through the window and the after credits breathing was his. But is it him any other times?

Halloween (2018)
Answer: Based on multiple things that I've heard, those are the only two times Nick Castle is on screen. He was mostly just there to help James Jude Courtney get the mannerisms down.
I had read in Halloweenmovies.com and other Michael Myers Instagram accounts that I follow, that was Nick Castle in the closet when the baby sitter Vicky opened the door.

Cobra Kai (2018)
Question: I thought Johnny and Daniel patched things up at the end of the first movie? So why do they still hate each other?
Answer: The first episode really only shows that Johnny still hates Daniel. Daniel is shown being friendly with Johnny when Johnny visited the car shop. Johnny was down and out and he was most likely jealous of Daniel's success. Only when Johnny was still giving Daniel a hard time did Daniel start feeling the hate again.
Answer: Actually, at the end of the first film (and by extension the beginning of the second), the only interaction they have is when Johnny presents Daniel with the trophy and compliments him on the match. Daniel never intervenes in the parking lot confrontation, and there is no indication that Johnny and Daniel have become friendly to any degree. This does not necessarily mean they've patched things up. Also, the previous answer that points out Daniel's initial friendliness and Johnny's hostility is correct.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)
Question: At the end of the movie, Emily is greeted by the Virgin Mary who gives Emily a choice. She can either ascend to heaven or remain on earth and become a martyr to prove that God and demons are real. Emily chooses to become a martyr and shortly after dies. How is her death supposed to prove that God and demons exist when Ethan came up with so many logical explanations for her demonic attacks? For that matter, how would she be able to tell people that God and demons are real if she isn't even alive?
Answer: You seem to have missed the point. It boils down to what Emily believed, not anything Ethan manages to explain away. In her written letter the priest reads in court she explains that she believes people would have to believe in God if she showed them the Devil. The logic goes like this: if someone sees or experiences something so horrible that they have to believe the Devil exists, then there has to be a God as well. It's about getting people to embrace faith, which was her ultimate goal. She wasn't concerned with anyone potentially finding evidence to the contrary. She believed that she had to suffer greatly and die in order to achieve the goal, which is the essence of martyrdom. Whether she suffered from mental illness or demonic possession is irrelevant in the end. Emily believed that she did her part to prove God exists when she died and that was all that mattered to her. As for her telling anyone despite her being dead, well, there were witnesses to the attacks and her story was national news. Her story would live on after her death, so in a way she'd be telling anyone that looks into her story.

Question: Unless he went through adoption records, how would Michael know where his niece lived?
Answer: In Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, it's revealed that Michael is under the control of a Druid cult using supernatural powers making him indestructible. It's most likely, they gave him the power to sense his own bloodline.
Michael also first encounters his niece in the drugstore, not at her home. After the encounter, he very well could have simply followed Rachel and Jaime home and learned where she lived that way.

Hocus Pocus (1993)
Question: While at the high school, after the witches arrive, Max says "This is your host, Boris Karloff Jr." Is that a real person or a name made up for the movie? With the witches thought to be burned alive, why did Binx snap at Allison and Max for opening the book. With the witches gone, he wouldn't have anything to worry about, right?
Answer: Boris Karloff was a real actor who is mostly famous for playing Frankenstein and The Mummy in the 1930's. He had many other roles in classic horror films of that era.The young host is naming himself after the actor. Binx may have been concerned that the witches were not truly gone, and therefore wanted to exert some caution. His concern was warranted.
The answer is true, but the question asked about Boris Karloff Jr, who didn't exist. Boris Karloff had only one child, a daughter named Sarah. As for Binx, he was angry about them opening the book and even states that nothing good could ever come from it. He was not only cautious about the sisters (and any concern he had there was valid), but he also knew that everything in the book was evil and didn't want to risk other issues it causes whether the sisters were involved or not.

Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
Question: How is getting struck in the groin with a harpoon (with or without pulling the trigger) fatal?
Chosen answer: You could easily die of shock/blood loss.
Answer: It's also shown that Jason pulled the trigger. You never see exactly where the harpoon goes, so it could have gone into his torso. From the angle you see Jason spear him, though, it most likely went up and exited through his back. This could have hit vital organs and blood loss would also occur. Not to mention that the last you see of the victim he's screaming so Jason could have done more to kill him after the scene ended and the film moved on.

Cobra Kai (2018)
Question: Johnny punishes his Cobra Kai class after learning that certain members trashed Daniel's Dojo to try to get the culprits to confess (with no luck). Why didn't he just send them all to Daniel's Dojo to clean up the mess and fix it up? That would have been the more honourable thing to do.
Answer: He was trying to flesh out the actual culprits but, as you pointed out, he wasn't having any luck. But if he hadn't received the phone call, he might have sent the entire class over to clean up. However, in the same episode, check Robby and Demitri's reactions to the former Cobra Kai students joining Daniel's school. Tensions were high between the two dojos and Daniel's anger at Johnny's dojo might have convinced Johnny that the current students would not be welcome there (risking a fight which both Johnny and Daniel wanted to avoid), so he might have been reluctant to send anyone even if it was the honorable thing to do. Also, Johnny mentions in an earlier episode that there is a difference between mercy and honor. He wants to make sure the real culprits get punished properly. Once he discovered who did it, the innocent would be off the hook and then the real punishment would begin for the guilty. So, in closing, there could be any number of reasons why he didn't send the entire class to clean up Miyagi-Do.

Cobra Kai (2018)
Question: Johnny quit drinking in the last episode. Why did he go back to drinking in this one?
Answer: Because of the school fight at the end of season 2 - Robby injures Miguel.
The original question dealt with an episode of season 1. The school fight happened at the end of season 2, so it had nothing to do with why he went back to drinking in first season.
Answer: He quit being an alcoholic (temporarily), but Johnny probably wasn't planning on never drinking ever again, he just casually drank at the bar with Daniel.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Question: In the trivia it says that the name Leatherface is only said once or twice. Well, I can't recall the name being used at all. What scenes were the name used?
Answer: The name "Leatherface" is used in the scene set in the hotel, and the waterfall scene. The grandmother says "leatherface" right after she says "Maryana, crank up the chain saw" in the waterfall scene. She actually says it in a whispering tone, so you have to turn the volume up to the max.
I think you're referring to either a remake or sequel. In this film (the original made in 1974), there is no living grandmother that speaks, scene set at a hotel, character named Maryana, or a waterfall scene.
Answer: At the dinner table scene when the hitchhiker is arguing with the old man, he says "me and Leatherface do all the work." There's a lot of shouting going on so it's easy to miss.

Candyman (1992)
Question: There is a major issue that I've never seen addressed. Candyman kidnaps baby Anthony the day Helen is in Anne Marie's apartment. She is then arrested and bailed out later that day. Then the following day Candyman kills Bernadette and Helen is hospitalized. A month later she meets with Dr Burke. So at minimum we have a month and a day that Candyman has the newborn. Who cares for the baby who an entire month? Candyman?
Answer: I don't see how it's a major issue. It's pretty obvious we are to presume that Candyman takes care of the baby in the meantime so he can use it for his plan.
Answer: There is a scene where Candyman feeds the infant some honey. There isn't a need to stretch one's imagination to determine that he is the one that takes care of the infant during the entire period in question.

Scream (1996)
Question: Why didn't Casey ring the police, after the call when she realied he was taunting and making threats?
Answer: Characters in horror movies are notorious for not doing the most obvious things. It's most likely that she was scared and not thinking straight at receiving numerous threatening phone calls, particularly when she is threatened after hanging up on the killer.
Also, when she told the caller that she was "two seconds away from calling the police", his response was that they'd never make it in time. She also knew he was nearby as he made comments that indicated he could see her. She didn't know it was someone that knew her. She's a teenager and scared, so her judgement was clouded. She reached a point where she believed her only chance was to get away from him by either fighting him or getting out and hiding somewhere outside.
Answer: Landline phones like the one used in the movie cannot dial out a phone number while the line is active. Considering the killer is continuously calling her, she can't dial out on the phone line. This is referenced in the movie itself when her parents arrive home, attempt to dial 911, and can't due to the line still being active.

Dante's Peak (1997)
Question: Why exactly did Ruth jump out of the boat into the acid lake water later on in the movie? Was it to make it easier for the boat to get to the dock? If so, this doesn't make sense as they were still pretty close. Did she just make a bad decision and not think on it?
Answer: She was also very adamant that she did not want to leave her home, believing that the mountain would never hurt her. She eventually realised she was wrong. She also loved the home she and her late husband built, but it was destroyed. By sacrificing herself she got her wish to stay.

Candyman (1992)
Question: What did Candyman mean when he told Helen it was always her? Why was he so interested in Helen?
Answer: When Helen goes back and sees the mural of his murder, the camera lingers on a woman in the picture that looks like her. This is the woman Candyman was in love with before he was killed. The implication is either she was reincarnated as Helen, or Helen reminded him of her, hence his interest in her.

The Omen (1976)
Question: Why didn't Damien's parents notice the 666 when he was an infant?
Answer: It's possible that the mark didn't appear until Mrs Baylock showed up and began teaching him about his heritage. The mark of the devil is said to appear only when Satan accepts a follower, and up until Mrs Baylock appears, Damien is a normal boy. Yes, he's the devil's son, but he knows nothing of his evil nature until she starts teaching him. In fact, at one point, Robert mentions that he knew every inch of Damien's body since he raised him and never saw anything, so more than likely the mark didn't appear until Damien had areas on his body where it could be hidden more easily.
But it's a birthmark. He had it when he was born.

Question: Why would Valak tell Lorraine her name if that's her only weakness?
Answer: Valak was portrayed as a particularly powerful demon. In horror films demons are often portrayed as overconfident, and in this case it was thinking that Lorraine Warren would not be powerful enough to be able to defeat it. In addition, Valak revealed their name while Lorraine was in a dreamlike trance state, so it may have believed that she might not remember or make the connection at any point and be able to use it to her advantage.

The Karate Kid (1984)
Question: Why wasn't Johnny disqualified for his own "illegal contact to the knee" like Bobby was? We know the ref saw it happen because he gave Johnny a warning. Never made sense to me.
Answer: The answer makes no sense since Johnny caught the leg and purposely rams the elbow into the back of the knee. There was no accident about it. Even the ref acknowledged this.
Chosen answer: Johnny attacked an illegal area which the rules accept may happen accidentally and so they have provisions for warnings and such in light of that possibility, whereas Bobby performed an illegal technique which cannot happen accidentally, and therefore the rules call for immediate disqualification.
That wasn't an accident; Johnny deliberately elbowed the back of the knee. But having him disqualified would be a terrible ending to a great film. The warning was for plot reasons.
Answer: The movie never explains this and it always seemed like an error to me. I've always reconciled it by saying that a flying kick to an opponents knee is considered so egregious it warrants an instant disqualification, while an elbow to the knee only draws a warning. Once again, the movie never actually says this so it's only speculation but it does make some sort of sense if you think about it.
Answer: I always took it to mean that the kick Bobby did actually put Daniel in a position where he was unable to continue, and that it was a definite attempt at maliciousness (at least in the referee's eyes), whereas Johnny's attack might have simply been an accident. Look when Bobby kicked Daniel's knee-the fight just started, and it wasn't an accident. When Johnny connected (Up to this point Johnny fought fairly and within the rules) they were in the middle of a match, and Johnny simply hit him illegally without intending to. When I used to train and fight in tournaments, I once got punched across the jaw by an opponent who got a warning. When he did it a second time a few seconds later, he was disqualified. It wasn't something that appeared malicious, it was just in the heat of the moment of the fight. Bobby's act wasn't, which is why he got disqualified. Johnny could have been in the heat of the moment, which is why he only got a warning. If he hit the knee again, he would have been disqualified.

Damien: Omen II (1978)
Question: When Damian learns that he is the Antichrist, he is very upset about it. Later in the movie, why does he choose to embrace who he is and his destiny?
Answer: Having lived as a "normal" boy, Damien is initially shocked to learn his true identity. After having time to adjust and being surrounded and groomed by satanic supporters, he eventually embraces his true persona.
The answer is correct, and I'm just going a into a bit more detail. During the events of the first film, Damien is normal until Mrs Baylock entered his life. She started teaching him about who he was, but he was only five or six, which would have been far too young for him to understand. He started acting more malicious after this point. After the movie ended, it skips ahead to Damien living with his uncle, aunt, and cousin. During that time, it's conceivable that the forces surrounding him decided to give him a period of peace. He was raised by his aunt (secretly a Satanist), but she might have been instructed to give him a normal upbringing so he wouldn't call attention to himself. As a result, he probably forgot about it, and started to believe he wasn't any different. Once he learned of his unholy lineage he began to remember and eventually embrace it, especially since he had several followers (Buher, Neff, and many others he may not have met yet) to help and protect him.

The Amityville Horror (1979)
Question: What is up with that pig thing in the window? Does it have anything do to do with anything?
Answer: That's Jodie. In the book and the supposed "true" story, the Lutz' daughter said Jodie could appear to her in any form he wanted, but usually looked like a pig.
Answer: According to the book (and you can take that for what it is worth), one of the characters saw a pair of glowing red eyes in a window. Later they went outside and found pig tracks in the snow. That is what this scene is trying to convey.
Answer: The answer that mentions that the pig thing in the window is supposed to be Jodie is correct. However, in the broader spectrum of things, the appearance or the sounds of animals (squeals, growls, etc.) during a haunting is supposed to mean that the haunting is demonic in nature, which the haunting in this story obviously was.

Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D (1982)
Question: How exactly did Jason kill Andy? In other words, how did Andy end up the way he did?
Answer: Jason chops Andy in half with his trusty machete (his trademark weapon of choice). However from the way the kill was shot it looks as though Jason whacks Andy in the crotch from above (as Andy was walking on his hands at the time of his murder) so how he ended up in half at the waist is anyone's guess.
He wasn't cut in half at the waist. Look very carefully and you'll see that he was cut vertically, then his legs pulled it apart to rest his feet by his head.

The Fog (1980)
Question: I was wondering if there was supposed to be any connection between the six original conspirators and the victims one hundred years later? Obviously Father Malone was a direct descendant of one of the conspirators, but what about the other five? I thought maybe it was about roles, like a priest, three fishermen, a weather man and an old lady, maybe? Or was it just any six people who had to die? That doesn't seem to make sense because the zombies were going to kill Stevie and her son and the people at the church. Maybe they would have stopped after six were dead, I don't know. I also doubt that the six who died were all relatives of the six conspirators, what are the odds of the three fishermen all being relatives of the conspirators and being on the same boat? Anybody got any ideas?
Chosen answer: From what I've gathered from listening to the DVD commentary there is no connection between the six that must die and the original conspirators (Father Malone aside). I've always found it quite silly that fog, which is seen roaring down the streets of town, seems hell bent on getting the main charaters and not bothering anybody else in the town.
If one reads the novelization of the film, it's revealed that the six were descendants of the original six conspirators. Although it wouldn't apply to the movie, it's an interesting plot point.
