That '70s Show (1998)

Let's Spend the Night Together - S7-E2

Factual error: After Kelso gets the call that his girlfriend's water had broken and runs out of the room, Fez answers the phone. In the background there are several license plates on the wall, one of which is an Indiana "Amber Waves of Grain" design, which was first issued in 1993.

Desperado (1995)

Factual error: During the scene where Navajas is throwing knives at El Mariachi and then the Bucho gang in the limo, he slides down in front of the car. The license plate simply says "Mexico" under the serial. Actual Mexican plates of the time period in the movie use the official state abbreviation followed by MEX to identify the state of issue. For example, JAL MEX for Jalisco, which is where the JWF685 serial seen on the plate would have been issued.

Factual error: The license plate on the blue Ford Taurus is 674-H2T. Format for New Mexico standard issue yellow plates is 123-ABC (three numbers, the Zia sun, followed by three letters).

Factual error: In chapter six, there are references to a new "Air Force One" being a 757. Air Force One is not a specific plane, but a call sign used for any aircraft carrying the president. Additionally, the US government has already had a 757 for a while. It is used to fly into smaller airports that cannot accommodate the president's standard 747. This mistake is repeated when the President of the United States "sends" Air Force One to pick up Carpathia. If the President wasn't on it, it wasn't Air Force One.

Man on Fire (2004)

Factual error: In the scene where they are first being chased (and where Pita writes down the license plate number), the plate on the other car has the number C5T K89. All DF plates for private cars and trucks have the format 123 ABC, as seen on the car driven by Creasy (845 PHY).

Prison Break (2005)

Bad Blood - S2-E17

Factual error: Episode: Bad Blood. When the airport security guard stops to give Sucre a ride, his car has Sinaloa plates on it. Since he works in Ixtapa/Zihuatinejo, it should have Guerrero plates on it. Sinaloa is several hundred miles away.

Prison Break (2005)

Show generally

Factual error: When in New Mexico, all the vehicles have license plates on the front. New Mexico only issues one plate, for the rear of the vehicle. Also, at least one of the plates has a Q in the serial. New Mexico only uses Q's on vanity plates.

Rat Race (2001)

Factual error: As Whoopi Goldberg and her daughter stop the rocket car, the engines on it are clean and shining. After driving through all the brush, not only would they have been very dirty and filled with plants, they would probably have been FODed (Foreign Object Damage) out and quit running long before it ran out of fuel.

Cast Away (2000)

Factual error: Since the can that breaks through the net is an AMJ on the right side of the plane, they must be in either a DC-10 or a MD-11, as those are the only 2 planes that are wide enough to fit AMJs on the right side. However, when Hanks is in the ocean looking back at the plane, it shows the tail as it is sinking into the water. It shows enough of the tail (which has suddenly lost all its paint, in particular the FedEx logo) to determine that there is no intake on it, which signifies that they were on an AirBus. (00:28:00)

Cast Away (2000)

Factual error: As the plane hits the water, Hanks is pushed back into the cargo area. He travels through an empty passageway between rows of containers. Though this load configuration is possible, it is not used because it makes no sense. Furthermore, he finally stops against a container that reads AEE7480FX. This creates a couple more problems, as AEEs are not only no longer in use, but they were belly containers, with an angled side on the bottom that fits the contour of the bottom of the aircraft. There could not have been one of these on the topside of the aircraft. (00:26:05)

Cast Away (2000)

Factual error: On Tom Hanks' doomed flight, there is no smoke curtain or solid bulkhead in place. This is a heavy, opaque curtain or solid wall that separates the the topside cargo area from the seating area, designed to keep smoke from a fire away from the crew. On DC10/MD11 aircraft, this is generally a solid bulkhead, and on Airbuses a curtain. This plane should have been grounded until one was installed.

Suggested correction: While some MD-11s at FedEx have a solid bulkhead, most do not and have this 9G net. I don't recall if they starting putting the smoke curtain in before or after they started flying the MD-11, but at one time FedEx only had the 9G net on their aircraft and no curtain.

Blank Check (1994)

Factual error: The Indiana plate on the rich guy's car had an incorrect serial number. The "Amber Waves of Grain" plates had the format 1 or 2 numbers (county code), then a letter in small font, followed by more numbers. The plate on his car was all numbers.
