Scream 4 (2011)

Corrected entry: WARNING: Lots of spoilers! Throughout the entire movie, but mostly in the end, it's made apparent how much smaller Jill is than Sydney and the rest of the adult cast (watch her height and size compared to others, especially when she is laying next to Sydney at Kirby's house and the hospital). Charlie is shown to be the same height as Jill, most noticeable at Kirby's house when they kiss. However, in the scene where the cops are killed outside of Jill's house, the killer is taller than the cop. Not possible seeing as Jill and Charlie are both kinda small.

Correction: I wondered about this too, but then it occurred to me that Jill could simply have worn platform shoes whilst in the costume to make herself appear taller. This would help towards nobody suspecting her because, as you said, she is much smaller than Sydney.

Scream 4 (2011)

Corrected entry: In the end, approx 15 min before end the guy with the head camera goes to the balcony with bottle of light brown liquid but on the balcony he is drinking from the small (pocket size) bottle.

Correction: I just watched this scene and the bottle remains the same size throughout, it never changes.

THGhost

Corrected entry: In the scene in the graveyard, the group is attacked by corpses coming from underground. One of the shots shows a skull riddled with maggots. A zombie might be a zombie, but they still need muscles to move. If a face has decayed that far, there wouldn't be any muscles left.

Friso94

Correction: Just because a zombie's face has fully decayed, that doesn't mean that their entire body has. The zombies that attack the group are all fully clothed, therefore we aren't able to tell how far their bodies have deteriorated.

THGhost

Correction: We are shown Buffy looking at the scar in her bathroom mirror, causing it to flip to the other side. It is in fact on the correct side throughout the rest of the episode.

Sucker Punch (2011)

Corrected entry: Throughout the film, we always seem to have a spin-around transition from behind Baby Doll when she enters a dream sequence. Numerous times in the film, when her hair is parted in the back into pony tails, every other shot showing the back of her head the position and line of her parted hair changes. Sometimes it's left of centre, sometimes it's right of centre, and other times, it's how fine-toothed the comb or wide-toothed the comb was used to part it.

Correction: We know very little about the rules of the different realities. The fact that Baby Doll's hair changes between the realities cannot be considered a mistake because we have no reason to question it. Her clothes change as well as her hair to fit in with the reality. It's not a mistake.

THGhost

Corrected entry: Just after Alice jumps off the prison rooftop, Luther shouts Alice over then fires his gun. Just after he fires his gun, two zombies standing either side of him fall over at least half a second behind the shot, indicating one bullet hit them both.

Ultim8Z0mb13

Correction: One of the zombies could easily have knocked the other zombie over, they are standing very close to one another.

THGhost

Corrected entry: When the demon first ransacks the house and they are walking from room to room the "R" is missing on Hunter's door. But in the next shot of his door the "R" is back on.

razoprill

Correction: The next time we see Hunter's door is after the cameras are set up, several minutes later, not the following shot. There would be plenty of time for the "R" to have been put back on.

Predators (2010)

Corrected entry: When Nikolai's minigun if seen firing for the first time, the barrels aren't moving at all.

lionhead

Correction: This is because of a common stroboscopic optical illusion known as the "wagon-wheel" effect; caused by temporal aliasing. The best known example of this is when the wheels of a stagecoach appear to be stationary when in fact they are rotating, because they are rotating at exactly the same speed as the camera shutter, i.e. 24 times a second.

THGhost

Corrected entry: Bennett holds Alice at gunpoint when she confronts Wesker, well out of range. But after she kicks the knives towards Wesker, he moves a lot closer since she is able to kick the gun out of his hand immediately.

Henkie36

Correction: This was moat likely done deliberately for the sake of 3D, plus Bennett could have suddenly moved closer to Alice as she kicks the knives towards Wesker because it startles him. He's working for Wesker and someone has suddenly launched some knives at him, it's obviously going to make him a bit nervous.

THGhost

Corrected entry: When the group plummets down into the elevator, they are stopped by the water, and everybody gets soaking wet. But when they stand in the shower, all of them are completely dry.

Henkie36

Correction: The group were not completely submerged in the water; it was only waist-high. These two scenes also take place before and after the Tower Swing scene, giving them time to squeeze the water out of their clothes and hair.

Serenity (2005)

Corrected entry: In the closing scene where the Operative tells the Alliance soldiers to stand down, one of the soldiers (almost out of frame) lowers a set microphone.

Nick Bylsma

Correction: I've watched this scene multiple times and I cannot see a microphone anywhere. Every soldier is holding a gun and nothing else. Where abouts is this microphone? "Almost out of frame" isn't very precise.

Sex and the City (1998)

Great sexpectations - S6-E2

Corrected entry: In this episode when Charlotte is talking to the Rabbi, she says, 'I'm a 37 year old woman.' She celebrated her 36th birthday in the episode "Luck be an old lady" in series 5. However, how is it possible that she's turned 37 when Miranda had Brady at the end of series 4 and he didn't turn 1 till later on in series 6 - so how has Charlotte aged a year?

Daisy86

Correction: The 5th series was cut short because Sarah Jessica Parker became pregnant, therefore creating a gap between the 5th and 6th series of at least 9 months. The character and actress for Charlotte would have no doubt become a year older in that time. This is never addressed in the show because Sarah Jessica Parker wasn't supposed to have been pregnant, but it still explains why Charlotte is suddenly 37.

THGhost

Corrected entry: Right at the end, how the heck do Jill and Carlos know the exact time and day Alice is going to snap out of her hibernation and break out of the Umbrella facility? I understand that it is some kind of setup for them and Resident Evil 3, but it's hard to believe their timing. Even if they did get a tip to come there, you'd think that they would be very suspicious. Like, wow this is too easy! We come in here and pick up this half naked girl and pass security. Sweet.

quay

Correction: Quite a lot of time has passed, giving Jill and Carlos plenty of time to prepare for Alice's escape. We aren't supposed to know the details - they got clearence and they broke her out. That's it. Plus it works well for setting up Resident Evil 3, like you said.

The Descent (2005)

Corrected entry: In the second half of the film, after the remaining cavers are trying to escape the creatures, there is a scene where one of the girls attempts to slide through a hole. She hears something behind her, turns and shines her torch around the cave and discovers that several of them are there watching her. She then jumps in the hole and starts to crawl away as quickly as possible. The mistake is to do with the lighting. In the shots which face her, with the small hole behind her, the cavern is bathed in green light from the fluorescent tube. However in the shot showing the torch moving around her and revealing the creatures, there is no green light - it is pitch black, obviously for dramatic effect. The green light is very strong and lit up one of the caverns earlier, why not this one.

Correction: This is more of a question than an actual mistake, and you've pretty much answered it yourself. The shot revealing the creatures does not have the green light for dramatic effect. This is also a deliberate mistake, not a continuity error.

THGhost

Corrected entry: Ripley should have the scar on her chest, but since Call's visit, it is not visible anymore.

Zenzucht

Correction: It could have healed over time. Ripley is a genetically created clone and is able to withstand huge amounts of pain and heal herself afterwards - Call stabs Ripley in the hand and she heals her hand immediately.

THGhost

Corrected entry: The song being played in the nightclub is "The Sound Of Violence" by Dennis de Laat, which was not released until 2008.

Correction: The song being played is actually "The Sound Of Violence" by Cassius which was released in 2002. Dennis de Laat's 2008 release was a cover of the Cassius' version.

THGhost

Corrected entry: When the Winklevosses are rowing in their first scene, one of their team mates in the other boat has on an Under Armour shirt. UA wasn't established until 2006.

Correction: Under Armour was founded in 1996, not 2006.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Corrected entry: When Woody escapes Sunnyside and climbs onto the roof, we are shown a shot of the entire rooftop, and no kite is to be seen anywhere on the roof, yet moments later, it's conveniently there when Woody's hat blows off (and then provides his escape over the walls).

MovieFan612

Correction: We are actually shown a shot of one side of the rooftop, not the entire thing. The kite could easily have been on the other side that we isn't shown.

Pitch Black (2000)

Corrected entry: As cool as it looks, it is impossible for a planet to have two sets of parallel rings, because rings only circle a planet's equator.

Phoenix

Correction: It's a sci-fi film. Anything is possible with sci-fi. I suppose getting an eyeshine and deadly creatures using sound to hunt their prey at night are impossible too? It's not supposed to be realistic. EDIT: I'm not going to engage in this conversation any further as it's starting to turn hostile. I stand by what I said 10 years ago. Good day, Gentleman.

THGhost

Please don't say, "it's not supposed to be realistic." That's a cop-out. Fantasy is not supposed to be realistic. Science Fiction IS supposed to be realistic.

Edwin Frydendall

I agree, this is a valid mistake. The events of this movie take place in our universe, and the most fundamental laws of physics of our Universe dictate that there can not be two sets of rings around planet. It can not be explained away by saying that it is a fantasy or magic.

Science Fiction. Emphasis on "Fiction." Like I said 10 years ago, it's not possible in real life for someone to have "eyeshine" surgery like Riddick did to see in the dark, but it happened in the fictional world of this movie. A fictional planet having two sets of rings is no different.

THGhost

It is very different. The inability to have eyeshine surgery in the present is a technical limitation. One hundred years ago it was impossible to fly faster than sound. We can do it now. A planet having two rings breaks a fundamental law of nature.

But this isn't nature, is it? It's a sci-fi movie that does not adhere to the laws of our world. It's not a documentary.

THGhost

That is incorrect. Sci-fi adheres to the laws of nature. You're describing fantasy. Plus, planets in the galaxy and other galaxies, still adhere to laws of "our world", so it's a ridiculous statement to make.

Bishop73

Whether it is an error probably depends on which type of sci-fi is used. With "hard" sci-fi, the two rings are contrary to existing principles, thereby constituting an error. With "soft" sci-fi, two rings are allowed, so not an error. The movie is set in the distant future, so it is possible known principles could be revised. Sci-fi may overlap with fantasy - where do "bioraptors" fall? Soft sci-fi includes human aspects - Riddick refused then agreed to save others. The movie is SOFT SCI-FI.

Pitch Black (2000)

Corrected entry: While exploring the abandoned settlement, Fry goes inside one of the buildings and finds the room with the planet system model. It then cuts back to Imam and Johns walking up to the machine that draws water and you can see that Fry is with them. But then it cuts back to her looking at the models of the planets to show that she was in there the whole time. (00:23:25)

Correction: We never actually see Fry's face, so she isn't necessarily there with them.
