Trivia: Erin says "Mercado" is Spanish for "table" when it is actually Spanish for "market." "Mesa" is in fact Spanish for "table." It's a running gag that Erin is really bad at Spanish. Earlier in the movie, she mistranslates what the theatre janitor was saying when he went past on a gurney.

Trivia: At several points in the film, Carol Ann's movements do not sync up with her movements in the mirrors in her bedroom. Director Gary Sherman confirms on the Scream Factory commentary track that this was actually done on purpose, given the nature of the mirrors in the movie and the evil counterparts of several characters.

Trivia: When the gang are in a taxi on their way to one of the burger joints with a green door and a red neon sign, look closely at Cobie Smulders' eyes whilst Barney is talking to Lily about Goliath National Bank - she is almost falling asleep when her character is not meant to be sleepy. Watch as her eyes widen, desperately trying to stay awake.

Trivia: After reading the script with his wife, Barry Sonnenfeld (the director) turned to his wife and said "Tommy Lee Jones". She turned to him and said "Will Smith", and that is how they were cast. This is confirmed by Barry Sonnenfeld on the DVD commentary.

Trivia: When Leeloo is fleeing from the cops and is startled by the elevator that goes down past her, on the roof of a grey bus passing along side it, you can see "KG62" written on it. "KG" are Karen Goulekas' initials, the film's digital effects supervisor, and "62" is her birth year. This is confirmed on the DVD's visual effects commentary.

Trivia: When Kane encounters the alien eggs, some droplets of the dark liquid that covers them can be seen falling upwards instead of downwards. This is because the egg was in fact upside down when it was filmed and the shot was inverted to show the otherworldly nature of the eggs.
