Corrected entry: It was against school board rules in those days for a married woman to be a teacher. Laura never taught school after she was married. Also Miss Beadle would have had to quit once she became Mrs. Sims.

Correction: I'm trying to figure out if this is based on historical facts or the shows storyline. Either way, it doesn't really matter. In the show, Caroline Ingalls and Mrs Olsen regularly substituted. Mr Applewood appeared for one episode.
