Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: An interesting DVD peculiarity. Switch on the Subtitle feature and then watch the credit roll -- even the background music and the choral singing during the final credits are subtitled. The subtitle "Slow instrumental music plays" is followed by "Indistinct singing". (01:40:15)

Correction: This is not unique by any means. It's not really trivia at all.

The Terminator (1984)

Corrected entry: Arnold Schwarzenegger originally was offered the part of Reese, something Cameron thought an extremely bad idea. He went to meet with Arnold "to pick a fight with him" to see if he could somehow get him out of the film, but discovered during the meeting that he thought Arnold would be an excellent Terminator. He was therefore delighted when Arnold's agent called him later and said that Arnold really REALLY wanted to play the part of Terminator instead.

Phil C.

Correction: Not entirely the case. Arnold was the one who suggested he play The Terminator after reading the script and relating more with it. It was he who suggested it, just as Cameron was about to tell Arnold he doesn't want him as Reese, which Cameron responded by saying "That's actually a good idea".

A Christmas Carol (1984)

Corrected entry: After Scrooge's "change of heart", he runs into Mr. Poole and Mr. Harking on the street, and tells them that he would like to make a donation. Then he whispers into Poole's ear. Poole looks astonished, and quickly bends over to whisper the amount into Harking's ear....but Harking's facial expression changes to surprise even before Poole begins talking.

Phil C.

Correction: He has just twigged as to what is going on - the world's tightest skinflint is making a charitable donation. He is expressing surprise at the event - the details which come later don't make much difference.

Corrected entry: In the scene near the end of the film where Harry tricks Lucius Malfoy into freeing Dobby, Malfoy is understandably enraged. He pulls out his wand and snarls "You've lost me my servant, boy." and then begins to shout "Avada....." before Dobby interrupts with "You shall not harm Harry Potter." Readers of the books will recognize this as the first word of "Avada Kedavra", the Unforgivable Curse which results in the instant death of the victim. An interesting way to show just how angry Malfoy was. It was also quite reckless. If anyone found out he did it, he would spend the rest of his life in Azkaban (until Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix anyway) if it was ever discovered he did it. And of course Dobby would have been a witness, unless Lucius killed him too. DVD subtitles actually show that he is starting to say "Vera-", but that doesn't match his mouth movements.

Phil C.

Correction: On the contrary, his mouth does match the words if he was rolling his "r" in the word "vera-" as I suspect.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: The puppy that Cleric Preston rescued is sitting in the trunk of his car when he starts his nighttime gunfight with the sweeper team. After he has finished decimating them, he looks down by his feet and picks the dog up. That's a pretty brave puppy, to leap out of a trunk during a pitched gun battle and wander into the midst of all the attackers.

Phil C.

Correction: The puppy maybe brave, but maybe when all the shooting had stopped he got out of the trunk and walked over to Preston who was just standing there for a couple of seconds.

Corrected entry: It seems to be implied that the death of Allan Quatermain's son occurred quite some time ago. If so, then why is it that during the final scene the earth over the son's grave is freshly dug?

Phil C.

Correction: The son's grave has also noticibly moved. Perhaps it is freshly dug because he was reburied in order to remain next to his father.
