Madagascar (2005)

Corrected entry: The animals talk about going to Grand Central Station (in New York). When they get to the train building the sign on the building says "Grand Central Station" but the actual building says "Grand Central TERMINAL." Grand Central Station is the subway connection. Note that the website of the building is http://www.grandcentralterminal.com.

John Pilge

Correction: When Marty gets to the building, the lettering on the outside of the building does indeed read "Grand Central Terminal."

Corrected entry: Early on, it mentions Sharkboy grows gills. On the planet Drool, he is holding his breath when he swims underwater to escape the electric eels.

John Pilge

Correction: The heroes are losing their powers, which would explain his inability to breath underwater at this point.

Madagascar (2005)

Corrected entry: Mason the chimpanzee reads a newspaper at the beginning of the film. Later on the boat he says he cannot read.

John Pilge

Correction: We never see Mason reading the newspaper. He just takes it out of the garbage and walks across the cage with it under his arm.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

Corrected entry: Michael Moore interviews Craig Unger and asks: How much money do the Saudis have invested in America, roughly? Unger says, "I've heard figures inside of $860 billion dollars." Later, Moore says, "So I read where like the Saudis have a trillion dollars in our banks of their money." The Saudi Arabian embassy estimates its investment in the United States is $450 billion. An Arab News Editorial dated 22 August 2002 said, "It is reckoned that private Saudi investments abroad amount to $750 billion, of which investments in the US account for 60 percent or $450 billion. Of that, some 35 percent (around $160 billion) is in the US capital market —- equities and bonds. The rest, $290 billion, is mainly in property."

John Pilge

Correction: The mistake is actually in the source that Moore refers to. He doesn't state as fact that the Saudis have one trillion in US banks, he states that he has read this.

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

Corrected entry: The narration says: "It turns out that the White House approved planes to pick up the bin Ladens and numerous other Saudis." Richard Clark, National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism from 1998 to 2003, authorized the departures. He has publicly stated through interviews that the FBI was consulted. The decision went no higher than Clark. This is also found in Section 10 of the Commission on Terrorism report "Threats and Responses in 2001" on page 12.

John Pilge

Correction: I don't want to get into a political argument but Richard Clark worked for the National Security Council, an agency directly controlled and answerable to the President. His actions as well as the actions of other people working for the President are often attributed to the "White House". Saying the White House did something does not necessarily indicate direct action by the President. Accordingly saying the White House approved the transport of the Bin Ladens and other Saudis is correct even when it was someone other than the President who gave the actual order.
