Revealing mistake: During the big fight scene, just as Annie Wilkes falls to the floor and hits her head on the typewriter, the actress is replaced by a really bad looking Kathy Bates dummy!
Misery (1990)
Plot summary
Directed by: Rob Reiner
Starring: Kathy Bates, James Caan, Richard Farnsworth, Frances Sternhagen
Novelist Paul Sheldon (Caan) crashes his car on a snowy New England road. He is found by Annie Wilkes (Bates), the "number one fan" of Paul's heroine Misery Chastaine. Annie is also somewhat unstable, and Paul finds himself crippled, drugged and at her mercy.
Annie Wilkes: Oh forgive me Paul for prattling away and making everything all oogy.
Trivia: When Kathy Bates picked up her Oscar and made her speech, one thing she earnestly said was, "I'd like to publicly apologize to James Caan for the ankles."

Answer: Stephen King doesn't have a cameo in this movie.
