Akeelah spells the word 'concierge' wrong, without the second 'c', but is given it as being correct by the judges. [Akeelah quite spells the word correctly in this scene. The sound levels may affect how this is heard.]

When Derek T tells Akeelah that he wrote a poem, she wants to read it. He tells her that he'll show her if she wins. By the time the end of the movie arrives, the poem is never mentioned. Not even in the deleted scenes. [Though frustrating that the movie does not include the poem by Derek T, it does not make it a mistake.]
