Monster House (2006) - 10 mistakes

Continuity: In Monster House, where they go to ding dong ditch the House, there is a tree stump in the yard. When they leave and are up in their room spying, the stump is gone and it's there again when they go back. This continues throughout the movie.

Continuity: When DJ, Chowder, and Jenny are drawing the dummy with the cold medicine, before DJ walks in there is nothing next to the Nebbercracker house drawing except two trees. But, when DJ comes in, there is a dotted line going to the house, a drawing of the kids in a circle, and a drawing of a red eye in the doorway of the house.

Audio problem: In the shot where the kids are locked in the police car, banging on the windows yelling at the policemen, their cries are muffled as if the car was totally closed up. As the camera zooms in, you can see the front driver's side window is open so the kids' voices should be much clearer.

Factual error: The house slides down the hill and breaks apart when Chowder pulls it down. It completely breaks apart. The furnace would have been destroyed, but the house rebuilds itself later on.

Plot hole: When DJ gets the call from the house and shows the babysitter, DJ hands her the phone without pressing any buttons and the phone starts to ring.

Continuity: In the last scene, we see DJ and Chowder running off to go trick-or-treating. As the camera view zooms out, we see a column of smoke rising up from the ruins of Nebbercracker's house. A logical explanation for this would be the chimney of Nebbercracker's house. However, the house has been blown to smitherines in the previous few scenes.

Continuity: When Chowder ding-dong-ditches the house, it shows the front view of DJ's house. Elizabeth's car is not parked in the driveway. However right after that, she leaves to find Bones and her car is in the driveway.

Continuity: There is one shot in a scene in the kid's bedroom where you can see the 'monster' house through the window and it appears to be much further away than previously. In the next shot, it virtually fills up the whole window area again.

Continuity: When Bones leaves DJ's house, he drinks out of the bottle and when he's done drinking you can still hear liquid splashing in the bottle. Bones did not drink out of it after that, and he throws the bottle on the lawn. But it shows the bottle empty.

Continuity: Near the end where Neburcracker hands DJ the dynamite, he doesn't hand him a match. A few shots later he has a match in his hand.
