Continuity mistake: Before the earthquake, the radio in Ma Kent's changes positions between shots, and a table cloth appears under Ma Kent's reading glasses.

Sacha

Other mistake: In the credits, just before the listings for the transportation crews, "Post production" is misspelled as "Post Poduction".

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Martha Kent investigates the crystal ship, there is a fuzzy outline of a crew member behind the truck.

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Superman is entering the baseball stadium from above holding the 'plane, we see a quick shot looking down from above the 'plane. The field is empty of players.

Continuity mistake: When Superman is flying over the sea trying to locate Lois, his hair is fluffy. He suddenly stops and there's a brusque cut where a close-up of him shows his hair brushed and perfect.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Lois and Jason are going to the hospital to visit Superman, Jason's hair is wet outside as they are walking toward the hospital. Once inside however, his hair is dry.

Continuity mistake: Before Clark's spaceship crashes, Ma Kent washes a mug and places it upside down. On the next shot the mug is the other way up.

Sacha

Revealing mistake: At the baseball field, when Clark is holding the plane's nose he is replaced by an obvious CGI figure with zero facial expression.

Sacha

Factual error: The shuttle attachment to the plane is wrong - the shuttle undercarriage would not be part of the fixtures. Not only that, when we see the undercarriage raise into the shuttle there are no wheels, so the shuttle would not be able to land upon its return, also the the undercarriage poles change shape before and after release.

Other mistake: The Kryptonian crystals need water to start growing. Towards the end of the film, when Lex puts a crystal into the Kryptonite cylinder, it immediately starts to grow and crystallize into the Kryptonite without any water.

Other mistake: The spaceship used by Kal El is very small for a 5 year trip - he'd need to eat something in that time too!

Suggested correction: Since we know nothing about Kryptonian technology, we can only speculate how or if supplies are stored.

Other mistake: There should be blood around Kal El's wound on his back because of the kryptonite but there isn't any.

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, in the Kents' house, we see 2 cooking books next to the breadbox and radio. In the next shot of it, there's now 3 books, a yellow one between the cookbooks and breadbox. In the final shot, the yellow book is now on the other side of the cookbooks.

Continuity mistake: During the plane crash, the plane goes into a vertical dive and the seats break loose and squash up against each other. When Superman gives the final push at the baseball ground the seats squash up again, and when the plane levels out and Superman boards the plane, the seats and passengers are back in place as if it never happened.

Continuity mistake: In the plane, after Superman says that planes are safe, the man next to Lois raises his arm way up high, but a frame later, from an angle behind, he is barely raising the tip of his hand.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: When Lois and Clark exit the building and she scolds him for leaving, the passers by don't match between one shot and the other.

Sacha

Superman: Your wrote that the world doesn't need a saviour. But every day I hear people calling out for one.

Trivia: The two writers of the movie make a cameo appearance as the two teens in the museum who are told it's time to leave and they are a bit "man-handled."

Question: If the crystal grows when it is dropped into water, whatever happens to all the chunks that fall off the new continent as Superman lifts it out of the ocean? Wouldn't they simply continue to grow and begin the crisis all over again?

Julie Wegner

Chosen answer: The chunks that fall off the "new" land are actually bits of the earth's crust. Superman had actually drilled himself way beneath the "new" land (under the bottom of the ocean floor) so that he was not in contact with the Kryptonite infected crystal land, so that he could lift it up and get rid of it. It is this earth crust that falls off slowly, revealing the kryptonite crystals beneath, and this is why his strength slowly gets taken away as he flies higher, until there is too much exposed and he loses all his strength.
